Yeah yeah...

Alot of the underclassmen in Sherman are a little too excited.

Although we deserve to be excited, I think its in bad taste to come into a public forum and show it.

I'll make sure our directors address this next week.

...and I am getting tired of apologizing for Sherman. Please don't judge us by a few immature underclassmen, but by our marching

(:

I appreciate the apology. I guess I overlooked the fact that it could have been underclassmen.

I very much respect the fact that you stood up for your band. Hats off to you, sir.

I'd like to apologize on behalf of the Sherman band for some of what's been going on in the forum. Lots of the underclassmen [and sadly enough some upperclassmen] have been taking some of our achievements and blowing them up in not only ours but other peoples faces. It's getting old for everyone and I hope everyone from our band realizes that. I'll make sure it's addressed - it's getting out of hand, but thanks guys for being patient haha.

Good job to all the bands at Area yesterday, it was a blast seeing so many good bands perform. Shout outs to Centennial and Joshua for some really cool show concepts.

Good luck at SCV in 08 if you make it in. There's some good guys there. Sadly though (but not for me  ).. Nick Williams is @ Madison...

horray!

LOL. Well, I was thinking about actual card games. I'm a big Spades player...

there isn't a club card game... or is there...? Dun dun dunnn.

The conspiracy continues.

But back on topic:

I also thing it's tres cool to stand up for your band.

A lot of my "underclassmen apology" was to fix the damage you did.

To try to salvage the reputation of Sherman that you so easily soiled.

And to think you want your spot back...

Thanks man. I'm practicing my arse off trying to get most of the exercises [there's a lot more than I thought there would be] down and memorized. I've touched on the etude - but it still needs heavy work. I also need to find a solo piece to perform along with it. But I feel fairly confident, and I think that whatever happens just going to the camp at the least will be a great experience. :)

You going for Scouts?

Yeah definately. I'm trying to get in before they 180- they just got a lot of their 'championship' staff back, plus Nick Williams, so heck yeah bro.

But with college and me being broke, I don't even know if I can march next summer. I'd love nothing more, but y'know...

I actually would enjoy blue stars as well as blue knights--- they both have powerful hornlines. However, no two hornlines have made my ears bleed happiness like SCV and Phantom...

Nice man - looks like you have it figured out, haha. I've just always been in love with SCV ever since I first saw their 04 Show Scheherazade. God, that was beautiful - and don't even get me started on Adagio for Strings. It just seems that every years show makes me fall more in love with what they do and what concepts they take on.

A couple of my friends on the battery at our school wanted to tryout for Blue Knights because 2 out of our 3 previous percussion directors were Blue Knight alumni, and they were so stoked - but apparently there is a new rule that if you can't attend all of the first week of their summer camps then you cannot be in the corps. Our school gets out after the first week in June so that just completely eliminates any chances of them being in BK.

Good thing there is such a variety of corps, eh?

Al Capwned! We're all getting mean on these forums lately (not that I don't enjoy the show).

Yeah, for the few in our band that really has respect for the program we just don't want people going around spoiling it - but sometimes it just can't be controlled.

But, who's excited for the Centennial contest saturday?!

Posted

Area B was exciting, As a new band Member it was all pretty overwhelming.

I still can't believe we (sherman) Beat Aledo. Not that im complaining i mean dont get me wrong I Love that we did, but their preformance was great. As for everyone else like i said it was overwhelming meaning i lost my focus easily. I'm looking forward to checking out your shows at state though, Best of luck to all of you!
