There is no specific percussion caption in BOA, although it is taken into account as 1/4th of the Music Performance Individual caption.

ya becuase my friend was saying how they got a score outta 50 and i was looking at our score sheets and i wasnt seeing anything he was talking bout soooo i dont know

If you want to know what your Percussion section got, ask your band director for the "Music Performance: Individual" judging sheet.

 

The 50 points for Percussion at BOA falls under the "Music Performance: Individual" caption.

 

The scores for the MPI caption is broken down like this:

 

75 points = Brass

75 points = Woodwinds

50 points = Percussion

 

200 = possible points

 

Unfortunately, BOA does not release the scores for the subcaptions within the caption on their contest score recaps (something I wish they would do). They just publish the TOTAL score for the caption.

I don't know somehow we heard in our band our percussion received a 48/50. Dunno if that's right though.
