king_kool360 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I dig bangles. They're awesome. Too bad they would clash with our uniforms. I don't recall seeing any uniform like ours with the "button-up" style. Most uniforms have the flap-thing. Quote
BassoonPadwan Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) Bowie's uniform has been my favorite for a while. Some other uniforms I think are cool are CP's, and Pflugerville's new one(They're sweeeet)! Somebody posted those Pasadena Memorial uniforms....... wow. Those are amazing. Personally, I don't like uniforms with sashs(sp?). I'm not sure why though...... We're getting new uniforms next year too! w00t~! If they get the ones that we were supposed to get this year, they are going to be sweeeeeeeet X infinity^2. When we got the "prototype" and it was modeled by one of our members, I nearly came on the ceiling. lol I won't give anything else away except they are the complete opposite of what we have now, which is a good thing. I'm excited for them. Also, I love the type of hats that the Cavaliers have. Those are great. I heard though that if you're not like 6 feet tall, they make you look short. Is that true? ~Ramos Edited November 12, 2007 by BassoonPadwan Quote
jd2012 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 i like broken arrow's just because it adds a huge effect to their marching, like last years GN finals, half the visuals were them turning to show the white side of the pants, and it worked... Quote
Liquid Midget Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) Ya anyone who has the Cavalier/SCV style hat (Pasadena Memorial) is a BAMF in my book. Edited November 13, 2007 by Liquid Midget Quote

But i bet they had one fun time making sure EVERYONE was PERFECTLY in step... because i bet a judge in the box is like 'where is the white leg outta time?' but i do give them massive props for being able to pull it off. Also Cavalier hats are pretty spiffy... I also like the Bluecoats/ Phantom style Helmet look... IDK its just awesome to me. Maybe cause its different than just plain old Shakos. Quote

Is that true? that is false. our hats look fine on most people. we have some shorter people in the band, maybe 4'6" or so (idk) and they look normal in the hats. I can see where that idea can come from though, since the plume is about a foot long. I'll get back to you on this after this next football game. Quote
MthsTrumpetsDOItBetter Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 (edited) I [like someone else said] am one of the few people in the world who like our uniforms. I don't really pay attention to people's uniforms. Here's pictures of our uniforms. [during show] [last year's full band picture] [picture I took of uniform and hat] Edited November 25, 2007 by MthsTrumpetsDOItBetter Quote
Danpod Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Broken Arrow has one of the most innovative uniforms in the activity. The half black/half white pants can create a huge effect when doing "ripple drill" or body movements. However, the drill can be a nightmare to clean when it looks as if the band is wearing two different uniforms. Quote
borchnork Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I believe Sherman did something like that 3 years ago, if I understand this correctly. What they did was had woodwinds wear white pants, and brass wear black. It reminded me a lot of salt and pepper. =] Quote

It reminded me a lot of salt and pepper. =] Marian Catholic HS from Illinois did the woodwind in white pants and brass in black for a few years in the early 2000s. With Broken Arrow, their pants were white AND black. Their uniform is pictured below: Broken Arrow's uniform is just a simple pallet---black and white. But to me, the uniform adds effect, depth, and a sense of elegance to their shows. I highly recommend watching their 2004 (Pure Imagination), 2005 (2-4-6-0-1 Les Miserables), and 2006 (Aqua) shows to get the full effect of the uniform. Here's a short video if anyone is interested. It's not the greatest quality but the visual is still there. The video is from their amazing 2004 "Pure Imagination" show. The black and white visual comes in at around the :18-20 second mark. Unfortunately, Broken Arrow did away with the black and white pants just a few weeks prior to Grand Nationals and marched all black pants at Grand Nationals. Someone from Oklahoma said it was because a judge at the BOA St. Louis Super Regional harped on them about it because the black/white pants made the band extremely dirty, visually. I kind of wish they left the black/white pants in regardless because the show lost a little appeal to me at Grand Nationals without the black and white combination and the band was still dirty with the black pants. treblemaker Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 (edited) Leander's uniforms are soo old haha. Needless to say the sequence on our baldrics are less than shiny. haha Edited November 26, 2007 by lhsfluter Quote

Disappointing that they didn't use those. I wonder how they order shoes though... Quote
mbui Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 By the way, right after you posted...I added in a link to a video of Broken Arrow in my original post so you can check the uniform effect in action. Quote

At parts it looked like some kids were marching with only one leg. lol. I think Hendrickson had a similar sort of effect with their uniforms this year, didn't they? Quote
radchad Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I'm a fan of black uniforms. I like others, too, but black is mi favorito. My Top 3 Favorite Uniforms: LD Bell - I used to think they had ugly uniforms. I thought the grey pants were wooof. When they got new uniforms, I nearly had a panic attack. They are so nice and the style is frikin' cool. Crossmen - Dude. These uniforms are tight! There is nothing about them I hate. Phantom Regiment's Mid 90's - These black uniforms with the small cape on the back. darn. These uniforms just look amazing. It may be because of how amazing they performed that show, but all I know is the silver instruments looked sexy with those uniforms. Quote
the terminator Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 yeah I love Crossmen, and Phantom. Hate the cadets I think it is pretty lame, and Marcus that gray hurts my eyes but not their music. I don't like ours when we go all navy, I like the silver breastplate Quote
gavinrh Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 i like the cadet's double sided uni's... marcus's gray shoes, and broken arrow's drum major? uniforms? maybe? someone said that it was more than just drum majors... the ones with two colored shoes Quote
chickora Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Yeah, Bowie's uniform is super kool. I like those Broken Arrow ones. Quote
Trumpet of Doom Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I like Westfields and Marcus', I thought the old L.D. Bell ones were hidious until I saw their new ones. Goodness, I think i'm drooling just thinking about them. Quote
takigan Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I think they look pretty freakin awesome! Personally I'm a fan of the Woodlands current uniforms......All-black is pretty awesome as well. Quote

Thats the same reason I like the cadets uniforms so much Quote
G'townPIT Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Anything with black and red, like crossmen's or colleyville's, looks so sinister and freakin awesome. Crossmen is my favorite, the aussie just adds more BA-ness to it. I also really like jersey surf's new ones. Quote
ftwdrummer Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 i like reagan's uniforms, circa 2003. The all-black with just the sash gets me every time. Quote
