*BassCl* Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Yeah, so i wanted to make my Bass clarinet look pretty so i started polishin with a cloth i got at a music store...but it wouldnt get the grossness outta the bell and i was wondering how could i get the nastyness out? it is a school instrument so its really really REALLY gross. all blue n green and yeah....its bad. Its a Selmer Bundy [eeew] but its not like i could choose! haha! The keys n such are all nickel... so best way t omake it shine? any every-day items like vinegar or veggie oil or soap or what? and you know that groos stuff that gets on your mouthpeices that you are always scratching away?? well ive heard of some crazy things to clean em with like Vinegar. Hydrogen peroxide-yeah i know it can be bad but ive heard of it...even coke! o_o so anyone have ideas besides scratching endlessly? =D thanks guys! Quote
MthsTrumpetsDOItBetter Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Everyone in my band says that if you stick your mouthpiece in the freezer over night then it will make it black. I don't know. I would think it would like... just make it cold. Lol. But if you try that dont play on it right away because the cold then heat might make it crack. [note:i've never tried this before because I'm a brass player. I'm just telling you what I heard] Quote
