Donezo Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Wow! It must be nice having that kind of administrative support. *jealousy* Quote

titancoaster Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 okay, so now that realignments have been officially posted, what is the outlook for 5A state now? Quote

I don't see any new names in 5A that make me stand up and say, "They will be at State," especially seven months before a contest has even been performed. The additions to 5A are good, no doubt about that. However, I'll wait until it's warm to start outlooking. Quote
gavinrh Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 wow our district has gotten really weak... we'll dominate the football scene in our district Quote

It's nice to be BIG BOSS 4A CONNALLY. Not newcomer, baby 5A Connally. I'm not too happy about realignments, as you can see. Quote

titancoaster Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 lol, our football team is in one very hard district (westlake, bowie, pflugerville), I am going to miss these past few years where we won most of our games, next year, its going to be about our fine arts to carry us the first few years as a five a. oh and i feel really really sorry for anybody who plays at our stadium next year, the visitors stand is really small, and half of it will be going to the bands (I.E. BOWIE) Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 My old high school will be suffering in football next year....they got North Shore (5A state champs in '04 or '05..I can't remember) on top of Port Arthur Memorial, who also dominated the football region the past two years. Needless to say, I'm happy I'm a Longhorn now =] (by the way, seniors, now is the time to visit your prospective colleges. UT gives campus tours! I saw them today & remembered how small I felt last year lol) Hook em! Quote

In '06, yeah...because, timing-wise, we had to report to the band hall at 4 the next morning. Same thing happened against Mansfield High in '07, the night before BOA (one of the pitfalls of going on the field at 8:30 AM). You guys were still pretty good at our house in '07. And if not for football teams like yours, we wouldn't be on a 26-game streak, with back-to-back *perfect* seasons. Thanks. Quote

bonepit06-07 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 (edited) no need to fear connally 5A football wise we will win some games and as for the rest of them it should be quite interesting games IE Westlake Bowie Pflugerville and Austin the cat fight is back and im sure this time we will be looking to making and actual catfight as far as 5A state for band... we will also be fine keep in mind its going to be a learning experience for anyone that goes up in a class for a few years after that experience its all up to the school to execute but being 5A should be a challenge not a fear. We will have to trust our directors who are very knowledge able and just be ready to play. Edited February 3, 2008 by bonepit06-07 Quote
the terminator Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Yes, it's kind of weird to say this but I think our football schedule got easier moving up w/ the two fading McKinney schools, Sherman(ok, but great band), Denison(not very good), Centennial(9-31 in 4 years speaks for itself) Liberty first year varsity, and Frisco the only decent team there is. While in 3A we had Celina 3A state champs, Pilot Point, and Prosper although we beat them all. Band-wise it just got tougher, but the rate we are going I trust the guys to make a great run especially the seniors which some will be 4 year leadership team Quote

treblemaker Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Back on topic... I think Georgetown is going to be a force to be reckoned with.. If they keep on their momentum coming off Westlake. Area D has a lot of bubble bands and they are right there in it. "] Quote
titancoaster Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 ^ I completly agree, there are ALOT of bands with momentum in many different ways in area D it will be one amazing competition, I really think on that saturday next october we will see all 10 final (and alot of prelim) bands put their heart, body, and mind on that field. I get goosebumps just thinking about it ! Quote
bonepit06-07 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 yeh diddo as titan coaster 5A area D and then 5A state is gonna be VERY interesting especially with the newbies coming ing (IE Conally VR and NB) well just have to see what happens that one day next october Quote

But you are right about people underestimating it. I don't think many were expecting Coppell or Berkner to be in the top 10 until they both put out fantastic performances in state prelims. And on the 4A front, J. J. Pearce just barely missed out on state finals after totally flying under the radar all season long. If Richardson High moves back down to 4A (as rumored) expect 4A Area C to have an even greater presence at State Marching Contest. i dont want to sound like im bragging by repping my school but you cant forget Poteet, we've made it to state every possible year since 1990 and not to mention back to back state titles but Area C used to be the toughest Area around 4A and 5A may be not so much 5a as 4a, but then it changed when uil redrew the lines last year taking sherman away(3rd place 05) and wylie moving 5a our 5a is pretty good as well duncanville has won it numerous times and and top 3 countless times im hoping since ill be off to college next year i can go to the compition Quote
bonepit06-07 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 so the update on connallys football season in its first year of 5A i think that they will do JUST FINE i predict a 6-4 record which isnt bad at all. and will make the last spot in the 5a playoffs so like i said we will be just fine Quote
MaverickBand15 Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 once again i predict McNeil will get dominated in football. I am predicting a 2-8 record. Quote
the terminator Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 wow, 2-8 amazing. I think moving up to 4A we can go 7-3, and make the playoffs Quote
