wilson07 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 where i'm from, dating within your own section is completely incest. eeeeeekkkk!!! i just thought of the other people on my section. Quote
meggie0789 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I think the word "incest" to describe dating within the band is all in good fun. Because i mean its natural we are going to date people we see all the time hello. Although i have been smart enough to date outside my school. Quote
MissSpringbassliner Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Dating outside of your school is always best because when/if you break up, you don't have to see them like all the time. Quote

You're probably not mture enough to be doing that at the ripe old age if 16. Or however old you are That's four cents already WORD!!! i agree with you completely... i have only dated one person in high school and it was stupid... also it was a DM... way to public for my taste... so yeah... dating not my favorite Quote
TRtrumpet Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 lol... thats not why all pple date in highschool.......... Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 wow, that'd be really difficult for my section because there are only 2 guys who play clarinet...the 10 or 11 others are girls! Quote
Lustra.exe Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 snares... never date a fellow snare because it will just ruin the musical relationship that the entire snare line has made with eachother.... not a good idea. Quote
xredsummersunx Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Eh...nothing wrong with it, it just usually doesn't seem to happen at my school. The best relationships seem to be from different sections, like Woodwind/Brass or WW/Percussion or Brass/Percussion...you know what I mean. That way you're not ALWAYS together, but you're together enough and you have enough differences to be interesting. Quote

Gltokensp06 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Well i'm Drumline Section Leader and i'm dating a cymbal player. Not really weird, were not even around each other in rehearsal. I guess its weird when everyone sees us kiss but we've been going out for like 10 months and in band she completely listens to me so whatever. Works for me!!! Quote
cutiepatuty1289 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 ^CUTE!! thats my little section leader!! well, its kinda weird...you just need to learn that there is a difference when you are rehearsing they are your "leader" so to speak, and when you are not they are your boyfriend again, i have no complaints...(9 months) Quote
travis_malone Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 in general i just think dating with in the band is a bad idea. seriously, like things get around quick in a band, reguardless of who hears what. it's like this chick we have here at leander...we say that she "tackles the tuba-line" cause im pretty sure she has dated about 7 of the 10 (exaggerated numbers, but you get my drift) and is now talking to another. I dunno, I wouldnt recommend it. Quote

RcAaLvPiHeIsE Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 For us it was always Trumpet guys and Guard girls, or Sax guys and Guard girls. Quote
chickora Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 LeanderBass5 said: hehe... and If I wasn't dating Chickora, I wouldn't date within my section, considering my section is all male...O.o Way to go, Tell everyone why don't you.. For our school, there really isn't any body dating within a section, I've never noticed that before. Except we had cymbol players date snares, but thats over with.. It usually the clarinet players dating the drumline. :-) Not pit, but drumline. Quote
travis_malone Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 i probably wouldnt touch anyone in my band. Quote

harrellp Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ah, but it can be nice to have someone to spend the long, cold bus ride with, eh?... Quote
TRtrumpet Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 yes it can be VERY nice... i dont think in section dating is a problem, but my sl does. lol Quote
chickora Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 harrellp said: ah, but it can be nice to have someone to spend the long, cold bus ride with, eh?... That would rock on, but usually our band directors are nice enough to allow people go on the bus with their hubbies. :-P But for some odd reason, it only works if you are dating someone in the drumline.. Otherwise than that, they don't care. Why is that? I don't know. Quote
