b_sax_agent Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 no, we were the smallest. 120 winds, 13 DL, 10 Pit, 15 SC, 27 CG, 2 DM. SFA was the second smallest. Quote
the terminator Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Let me think I believe we had like 90 winds, 8 drumline, 8 pit, and 12 in guard Quote
WestCoastCorpsFan Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 ha, 220 winds, 17 d-line? I think... and i dont even know about the guard, I guess 20. 25 pit? Quote

AzNtRoMbOnEcHiCk Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 oh yeah even though we might have 207 people we will still only march like half the band. weird, i know. Quote
ftwdrummer Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 'Nova dropped some hints about the show for next year...he wants to do music from a movie (apparently, one of his favorites), but he's waiting on telling us what movie until after we get rights. Quote

Monty Python's Holy Grail. Brave Sir Robin ran away Bravely ran away, away When danger reared its ugly head He bravely turned his tail and fled Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about And gallantly he chickened out Bravely taking to his feet He beat a very brave retreat Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin Quote

b_sax_agent Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Are you going to have cocounut solos played by a swallow? Quote

Each of the guard needs to have two coconut halves and clack them together while galloping around and one guard member will have a big huge golden grail and be constantly chased by one of the drum majors. The whole band will yell "Ni!" a couple of times during the drum feature and the finale will have a cow catapulted towards a Trojan Bunny. Quote
marcomac29 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 you should throw cows over the drum major podium!!! and for g.e. somehow figure out how to make a really small rock float =D Quote
borchnork Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 we're supposed to find out today... correction... THEY, next years band kids, are supposed to find out today. But I already know. And it's freaking awesome. I'm jealous. I'll wait a little while before saying though Quote
the terminator Posted April 21, 2008 Author Posted April 21, 2008 that's cool, hey what contest are u guys going to, we have Denton, Little Elm, and Centennial. We're having narration again in our show, not sure if I like it b/c that's what annoyed me about the cadets show Quote
b_sax_agent Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 we've had narration/singing for the past four years. I guess it depends on how you do it, and where you put it. Quote
sax5warrior Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) Our marching show will be revealed...sometime later, I mean I already know it but I just don't want to reveal it just yet to all of you. Expect a big brass feature...which gives me a lot of fear. BUT, it will not be as cheesy as last year's. Edited April 22, 2008 by sax5warrior Quote

Mr. Sanchez, suggest this to the Velvet Knights for their 2009 program. Quote

Mr. Balash, with all due respect, VK can't do this for their 2009 program; they're already doing the "Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion" show I posted over on the BOA forums. borchnork Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I have no clue what contests our school will be doing next year... I don't pay attention to the new schedule. lol. Uhm... I'm not sure the title but our show is essentially Enigma Variations. I've heard a lot about it having to do with like... Pictures? of people (obviously being Elgar's friends that the song is based). There's a bunch of really interesting inside things that I'll lay low for now, but the 2nd and 5th movements of our show both go 180 and I heard that mvmt. three or something is a woodwind quintet the ENTIRE time... and we have a new music arranger... I'm not sure who it is though. Quote
Fata1 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) I'm not sure what contests we're going to either. All I know is that we're doing either a BOA contest or Duncanville. Other than that, I'm not sure. Edited April 22, 2008 by Fata1 Quote

crazyjakeup Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 rowlett's show(so i've been told) will be one big mvt. no breaks, there will be a constant battle between the brass(deep and dark) and ww's(light and pretty). they are talking about having a second front ensamble of just winds and shinking the actual starting line down to 180-200 people... i excpect the guard to have amazing work and be/look very colorful with flags and uniforms... they will have one of the strongest senior classes in rowletts history, hopefully they wont mess it up...
