MaverickBand15 Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 McNeil's show will be centered around the different music of American composers. The Composers included in the show will be Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, & William Schuman. We are also in new Uniforms this year! We dont have a title for it yet, but the opener sounds awesome!!! yesac519 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 i know for a fact it isnt Bells for Stokowski. totally new concept. we just named it bells because of the way it sounds. As for who the composers are for the show, I don't remember. I can get you the composers asap. Quote
Trumpet of Doom Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Well I dunno why you all are telling everyone about your shows, getting that suprise at the first performance at a competition is a lot better than people already knowing whats gonna happen. Quote

I disagree. You'll already know what the band's show is before they perform at a contest because......A) football game performances and B ) their show music is going to be listed in the program book. It's no different saying what your show is now than say in September or October. I posted this on the previous page, but I always let the performance speak for itself. I would rather be hyped after watching a show that wasn't hyped up, rather than be hyped about a show that was supposed to be a surprise and then be let down after the performance. Quote

lhstrumpet Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Ours is called Into The City. We have a wide variety of musical selections (all classical still though) that tell a story of us going into the city. The music is great, I just can't wait for the drill. Quote

Contests almost always provide a book that lists the name of bands, their performance time, and their show title and music. It often also lists things like drum majors, directors, and past achievements. Considering my post was in English...your use of the word "your" is incorrect. It should be "you're". By the way, I know what a program book is. Edited June 4, 2008 by Salas Quote

Salas Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Fata1 said: Part of your post was in English. You stated "program book" in the form of a question and then you stated something in Spanish. It was the fact that "program book" was preceding a question mark that left me thinking you were asking what it was. Also, I know the difference between "your" and "you're". People make mistakes. Sometimes not correcting them is the more polite way to respond. Aw, poor baby. Have some chicken. Quote

Man... I'm really sorry that happened to you guys. If I was the director (and knew more of the situation), good chance I'd take appropriate legal action. It's not too too late to form something up, though... Edited June 21, 2008 by JediSaxSolis Quote

Was it him by any chance? no, it wasn't. we wanted to try something new this year. and instead of buying pre made shows. we try making our own and have an original made for uss. Quote
ftwdrummer Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 In other news, the status of Paschal's show is currently in a state of flux, due to the shift in band directors. Quote
