They better make state so I can see them! lol. I loved them at state last year, and I'm really digging this whole slow motion idea. =] Quote
titancoaster Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 umm, Hendrickson is a 4A (which is why they were at state last year) so they cant make state this year, but they will be at BOA Houston. And yes THERE SHOW IS REALLY COOL, its definantly out there but very cool. Quote
borchnork Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I thought they moved up to 5A this year..... Quote
txsweetheart183 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I can't wait to see all of these shows that everyone is talking about!! Quote
rpd Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Hendrickson has an awesome show this year. there is a part in it where the whole band is moving in slow motion its so sweet. Do you mean like Half time slow motion? Or matrix slow motion? We have a drill where the low brass and low reeds are playing an intense melody and moving in normal time, and the alto and soprano voices are playing a melody from the ballad earlier in the show and moving in half time. It should look pretty cool. Quote
mbui Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 You can hear L.D. Bell's music on their show website at http://ldbellthequest.org "The Quest" In Paradisum - Sarah Brightman The DaVinci Code - Hans Zimmer A Beautiful Mind - James Horner Music for Prague - Karel Husa Stardust - Ilan Eshkeri Original Composition by Don Hill & Bret Kuhn Can't wait to see this in two weeks at Houston. the terminator Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 jeez typical ld bell right there, but whatever. We are currently making some changes in our show b/c we have these leaves that are making everyone fall, so we're taking them out from the show and framing the band Quote
mbui Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 jeez typical ld bell right there, but whatever. I sense some hostility, for whatever reason? Quote

the terminator Posted September 30, 2008 Author Posted September 30, 2008 I sense some hostility, for whatever reason? i meant that whatever they do is rock solid, and something we can't quite compare w/ yet, so no use worrying about them we got to focus about ourselves this week Quote
borchnork Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 i meant that whatever they do is rock solid, and something we can't quite compare w/ yet, so no use worrying about them we got to focus about ourselves this week it's hard to ever compare with a band like Bell when our school district (well, I guess its just yours now) will never allow a school to get into the 5A category. You hafta have number like Bell to really compete like them. That's always a topic I was bitter about back in Frisco. Anyways, we're marching a new show Saturday "Get it On" and it's really catchy! We have our full show for State and I must say our opener is the coolest thing I think I've ever heard in my life. =] Quote
morebueno Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 If Crockett 1993 was the "big thing" going on.. why is there no videos out? scam... Quote

iceeblue2 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I thought they moved up to 5A this year..... Connally moved up to 5A, not Henderickson Quote
takigan Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 (edited) If Crockett 1993 was the "big thing" going on.. why is there no videos out? scam... Who said it WAS a big thing? You're not making any sense. *sigh* You won't find a video of Crockett Hs's 1993 show on somewhere like Youtube for the same reason there aren't any videos of any other school that isn't Spring, Westfield, or Duncanville from that particular era on Youtube; they didn't make a big enough impact for someone to want to track down some old tapes and put them up somewhere. A school that didn't make State or BOA finals won't be found on Youtube unless some bored old 30-something decides to put his old HS video up for nostalgia's sake. I sometimes wonder where you'd go to get UIL tapes from that time period though. Edited October 1, 2008 by takigan Quote

Xenon Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Dan Ryder can probably hook you up. Actually, videos from 1995 and earlier were taken by UT's video department. You would need to contact either them or UIL (archives) to obtain a copy of the videos. 1996 was recorded by the company that is now Music-T's, but they no longer have the tapes. The only hope here is if you could get a copy of UIL's archive. 1997 and on was recorded by Vestige Video and all years are available from them. Dan Ryder also has a number of copies of most of these years. Quote
