borchnork Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Well... Our Exhibition show at UNT is called "Groove!" and includes music from Queen! I'm excited. It's my first show that I haven't done anything hardcore classical music related. =] Quote
b_sax_agent Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 we do contemporary. Stuff made in the past 10-15 years. Quote
JediSaxSolis Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) What's Reagan playing? I was looking on youtube and someone was saying that they'll get beat easily I'm not sure what they're playing, but I know they're having a split-up in their schools... so it's possible that's what the person was referring to. Also, The Dark Knight was a pretty good movie. Joker made it worthwhile. Edited July 18, 2008 by JediSaxSolis Quote
dmcoogs Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 The Woodlands College Parks Show is entitled conZentric Circles.. music: Equus : Eric Whitacre Chichester Psalms : Leonard Bernstein 1000 Airplanes on the Roof : Phillip Glass Quote
titancoaster Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 ^ I really hope i get to see that it sounds interesting, good music, and the circles theme is similiar to a Winter Drumline Show we did a few years ago, I am sure with TWCP staff it will be nothing but great Quote
ftwdrummer Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Paschal's show is tentatively titled "From the Earth to the Moon." Music features David Holsinger's "To Tame the Perilous Skies," arranged by Michael Klesch. Drill by Brian Youngblood. Drumline camp starts Monday! Quote
rpd Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Our show revolves around colors, where each movement is related towards a different color. Music comes from Bernstein, Bryant, and Jolley (may have the last one wrong, the credits are so small in our sheet music) and arranged by Daniel Montoya Jr. Movement one is green I believe, it has a very contemporary feel. Movement two is red, its latin piece. We haven't touched movement three or four yet, so I don't know about those. I was iffy on this show when I first found out the concept, but the more I hear it, the more I'm beginning to like it. Quote
Michellen Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I know the show for my new school is called "Forgotten People," but I don't know anything else... I'm excited to be marching in Texas, though. Quote

I figured bigger notes, smaller text! No problem. Its certainly easier to read than some of our show music in the past. And thanks for names too. Hopefully I can find them on the interwebz and check them out. I can only assume blue is one of the colors now . Quote
actualgirltrombone Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Dan, I'm always so excited when i hear "arranged by Daniel Montoya" at marching competitions. Quote
MaverickBand15 Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Yea, I love Daniel Montoya Jr.'s Marching band Arrangements. He has done ours the Past 2 years and is doing ours again this next year. He arranged Saturday Morning Overtures, Somniphobia, and now he is arranging McNeil's again about the different music of American composers. The Composers i know for sure that are included in the show will be Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, & William Schuman. Montoya did an AMAZING job arranging it!!!! I have no idea what the official title of it is. We are also in new Uniforms this year! yay!!! Quote
AzNtRoMbOnEcHiCk Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 our show is based on cirque du soleil's "quidam". i'm excited and band starts on thursday! Quote

thetransfer Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 L.D. Bell, The Woodlands, Marcus, Richland, Stephen F. Austin, Haltom, James Bowie...anyone? What about those schools? I'm from one of them (can't say which though 'cause we aren't supposed to be on here because our director doesn't want us to get into this stuff or something like that) Quote
treyj Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Their 2008 show. i don't think people should be sharing their show information on here quite yet. I'd love to tell about ours, but it just seems one of those topics that shouldn't really be discussed until it is unveiled at a game our something. Wouldn't want to make directors mad!! Quote

There's nothing wrong with sharing this information, especially since camp has already started in many parts of the State. The kids know whether their directors will be mad or not if their information is disclosed on here. If they're not allowed to say, that's okay. If they are, we can only hope that they can come forward so we can put together a more organized list. Quote

I'm just saying since our camp doesn't start until august 4th and our show isn't even completed yet I won't be sharing mine! hmm, it will be more of a suprise? lol Quote
borchnork Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 L.D. Bell, The Woodlands, Marcus, Richland, Stephen F. Austin, Haltom, James Bowie...anyone? I've heard what Marcus is doing... Or at least a rumor about it... I'm not sure I'd be allowed to say, but it IS themed again, similar to the other previous shows, but I feel comfortable in saying this one is WAY cooler than previous years. Quote

titancoaster Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) well I will say this as far as Connally's show is concerned, our directors do not want us sharing the show info on txbands until after we have preformed it in competition and even then we usually let others talk about most of it (aka Ourspace from two years ago) And all of my directors know my nickname, so they would easily trace me if i slipped up (but that doesnt have to stop me from saying that our show ROCKS!!!)
