TRtrumpet Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 yup HECK FREAKIN YES MAN!!! just got back from our first pep really and we kicked MAJOR ### WOOOOOOOO! Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Yay for pep rallies! Even if they make me go deaf from having to hold cymbals for the snare line, they're still fun. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 yea... its almost inpossible to hear anything but percussion at our pep'rallys! Quote
BlinK Day 41 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 our pep rallies are unpleasant becuase half our school thinks were cool but wouldn't join the band and the other half think we're the biggest losers ever Quote
TRtrumpet Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 same here, but I still love ours. They get me pumped for the game Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 I loved pep rallies when I was a freshman/sophomore. The trombone section would play Low Rider and one of the senior drummers would put on the biggest bass drum and dance around with it. Now the BDs won't let us play Low Rider anymore. Ah, memories... MissSpringbassliner Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 We dance around when we play like rap songs on our drums. Its really funny because all the "gangsta" ppl who LOVE the movie drumline ( why they like it I don't know ) freak out and like dance around too. Then we make fun of them when they leave. We were tracking the other day and all these ppl started following us and dancing around like idiots. Does stuff like this happen to anyone else here? Quote
Keyboard_Countessa Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I'm not sure if our band has always done this and I just never noticed or if it's a new trend, but a lot of the different sections in the band have special dances they do for drum cadences. The sousas do a sort of swing thing, the flutes row their flutes (think rowboats) or do "the shower", the color guard has hand motions, the trumpets/mellos have a weird version of the Macarena, and some of the saxes just spaz out. And one of our lovely and talented drum majors has a very "unique" conducting style for when we play Shout it Out... the football team loves it. Quote
MissSpringbassliner Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Oh well yeah, our band does stuff like that too, but i was talking about like random ppl that were waiting for the activity bus in the parking lot. Quote
