mbui Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 I'm going to Game 1 of the Rockets/Jazz series tomorrow. I can't wait. Quote

Quote
ftwdrummer Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Interesting...I'm calling that series Suns in 6...the Spurs don't have an answer for Shaq (see: 2003 conference final, and the two Suns/Spurs games since the deal). Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Spurs beat the Suns in double overtime, with a miracle three from Duncan at the end of the OT to force the second OT. Texas 1, Rest of the country 0 Quote
crazyjakeup Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 well if the hornets, cavs, lakers, or pistons win the championship i'll be up $120... if not i'll be down $20. thats not too bad... texas teams are 1-1 right now... c'mon rockets! Quote

Make that 1-2. Mavericks lost as well 92-104 to New Orleans. Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 T-Mac needs to pick up his game. Without Yao, the entire scoring load is all on him. If he would just turn young again, into that old scoring champ, we'd be in great shape. we have point guards to do the passing, T-Mac needs to focus on taking it to the basket. Quote

Lakers and Hornets have a good chance. Too bad you didn't get to pick Boston along with LA...haha THOSE would be amazing odds. Quote
crazyjakeup Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 very true.. my brother has the celtics(err to him)... Quote

I think Duncan seems like a nice answer. Part of the reason the Suns got Shaq was for this scenario, for him to be an answer to Tim. In those other two games Ginobli wasn't all that there and in the 2003 Conference final, wasn't it the Spurs and Mavs who faced off, cause the Spurs won it all that year. Quote
Claritone Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Looks like another first round exit for the Mavs. If we lose one game at home, we're done. Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 far from over... remember finals 2 years ago? Quote

Maybe it was '05 I'm thinking of, but there was one year that SA beat LA to go to the Finals... Quote
Claritone Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 It's not over yet, definitely. But after losing by 10 and 20 points in NO, I'm not very optimistic about our chances to win even one game there. Hopefully I'm wrong, but IMO losing even one game at home pretty much seals our fate. This team isn't playing with one ounce of passion or motivation right now, and really hasn't since that disaster in the 2006 finals you referred to, which I don't really feel is a good example to use for this series. No team has choked worse than Dallas in recent years (football and basketball), and NO seems like the real deal to me. Until this team proves me wrong I wont expect anything more than mediocrity. I think last time Spurs and Lakers faced off in the Conf. Finals was in '01, thats when LA swept them to then go and win in the finals. Either way, I'm rooting for the Spurs lol. Looks like another close game tonight, which I'll hate again. Quote
mbui Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 I'm glad the Rockets did some silencing for once and shut up the Jazz fans after winning Game 3 last night. I swear I can't stand Utah Jazz fans. I've hated them since I was a little kid and I still hate them to this very day. And, what an amazing play at the end of the game by Carl Landry. He loses some teeth and starts bleeding profusely after getting elbowed in the nose and mouth by Utah's Carlos Boozer and he comes back to play a few minutes later.....I love that kid. And, Dallas' Jerry Stackhouse running his mouth at Hornets head coach Byron Scott, and Josh Howard admits to smoking weed during the offseason? Quote
ClarinetGlissandoInBlue Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 it's nice that we took it to their homecourt. after all, one of those 4 home losses in the regular season was from Houston. Quote
crazyjakeup Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 byron scott is a spare. and josh howard is lame, he is super over rated... Quote
Claritone Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Hopefully this is the last season Josh Howard plays in Dallas. This team needs a complete overhaul, starting with him. Quote
ftwdrummer Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I would agree with that...I personally would love to send Kidd and Howard to the Clippers for sign-and-trade Elton Brand and Cuttino Mobley. It works for the cap space (under the league cap trade rules) depending on the contracts...and Donald Sterling's just nuts enough to think it's a good deal. Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 how bout this...trade our entire team for atlanta's team...they are looking pretty good right now. but on a serious note.. i jumped on the mavericks bandwagon 2 years ago when they made it to the finals. and i refused to get off last year after losing in the first round. now, im officially jumping off the Dallas Mavericks Bandwagon. Good night. Lets go Nets! Quote
mbui Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Rockets move on to play the Jazz in Game 6 on Friday. Spurs advance to second round vs. the New Orleans Hornets Mavericks are done for the season. Quote
the terminator Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 that's a shame, but oh well yeah let's get rid of Howard not b/c I don't like him but he underachieves in playoffs and his comments about smoking marijuna in offseason is dumb(I bet he's doing it right now) and yeah the only person I like to keep is Brandon Bass, the only person who was any good for the Mavs throughout the series.
