Haha this years playoffs are crazy. I don't think D'Antoni should leave just cause they lose to the Spurs. Then Avery is gone. How bout that "punch" on Lebron and Pierces "gang sign" flash. Not to mention the Hawks capable of pulling one heck of an upset. Maybe all this crap isn't that exciting, but sure has me hooked though

He should. He's lost so many times to the Spurs in the playoffs, English Scientists are still calculating those numbers. D'Antoni thinks the way to a championship is to score as fast as possible and hope the other team misses some shots on the other end. It's obvious that D'Antoni and Steve Kerr have very different philosophies on what it takes to win an NBA Title. The last time I checked, Steve Kerr has NBA Championships and D'Antoni does not. Oh yeah, how's that Shaq trade working out?

I like how the suns and mavs situations kind of paralleled each other. Both teams trade away younger players with much more upside for older players who are past their prime. Both teams lose in the first round after winning only one game in the series. Both teams fire their coach within hours of each other.

Suns are going to need to do one heck of a change to morph into a more defensive team. D'Antoni wouldn't be unemployed for long though. I love how the Shaq trade blew up in their faces, showing that Duncan is pretty much the better big guy. Of course in a devout Spurs fan he is

Anyone else see D'Antoni potentially going to Toronto? Their team's practically built for the "Seven Seconds or Less" game.

 

And for some unknown reason I find hilarious the possibility that Phoenix's move for more defense would be to hire Avery.

Then again, Steve Kerr was the mastermind behind the Shaquille O'Neil trade. Kerr might have a few titles as a player, but winning a championship as a player doesn't automatically calculate success when it comes to the coach and GM positions. IE: Isiah Thomas.

Didn't Avery Johnson implement some defense into the Mavericks and make them a more defensive minded type of team? When Don Nelson was with the Mavs, they were a run and gun, up and down group just like the Golden State Warriors.
