2008 TMEA Honor Band Programs:

These are the Honor Band programs for the bands that will be heard at the State listening. To keep the ideal of the anonymity of the process, I have removed all school names and sorted them alphabetically by the first piece. With only 3 exceptions so far, the programs listed are the programs that the bands played at their UIL competition. If this is not what the band submitted for Honor Band, please let me know.

Whatever 5A band is playing J'ai ete au bal, I greatly admire them. That was on our UIL program, and that piece is NOT friendly for us woodwinds at the end.

I'm also impressed to see a 3A band playing March Opus 99. That's a rather difficult song to play as well.

OH! AND YAY!!! Somebody's playing Lincolnshire Posy! That's like my FAVORITE band piece EVER!

They play it great, too. I won't say who it is but I heard them earlier this year and they sounded awesome.

They are a long ways from Fort Worth, did you hear them at a festival or something?

The first band/s program in CC is Immer Fesch! March (not Fimmer)

Abracadabra is their second selection, not the third

I am certain...

thanks

Fixed!

? A Middle School Band doing "Strange Humors"? I imagine it's a watered down version like they do with some pieces.

It wouldn't really surprise me if it were the real version. I bet some of these honor band competing bands can play certain grade 4 pieces.

thats what i thought...im going to the TBA convention...would we be able to sit in on the listenings of anything of any sort?

Yes, you can sit in on any of the listenings. Each of the classifications will be going on at the same time in different rooms. The last time I attended (2 years ago) the listenings were upstairs in the meeting rooms. They'll be starting in the morning, although I'm not sure exactly when.
