DCI Quarterfinals in theaters! Yeah, you want that.

For those who are new to this, here's the deal. DCI will broadcast World Class Quarterfinals LIVE in select theaters across the Nation. It's a fantastic event that I like to attend every year and you'd be a fool not to go! The show will be on Thursday, August 7th at 5:00 PM Central Time. Tickets will go on sale July 11th. Hey, that's tomorrow!

Here's the list of participating theaters:

20 corps will compete in Quarterfinals this year. The top 15 corps will be shown live and in their entirety. During the broadcast, you will see highlights from the other five shows. DCI will post the Quarterfinals performance order a few days before the event. Ticket prices have not been announced yet but I'll keep you all posted.

Find the theater in your area and go! Discuss away, friends.

gosh, the theaters are so far away with gas the way it is... =[

I'm not all up on my Dallas geography, but do you live in Frisco or Denton? Because there's a theater in Lewisville that's showing DCI Quarterfinals.

Just so I have everybody in my band that's going prepped...where in the closer does the "Vanguard!" yell come?

In Cloudburst, shortly after the 3 set in the back left, they do a block wave that comes to the 50. After they center on the 50, the two halves go out from eachother with a large chord crescendo. The yell is right at the end of the crescendo.

It's Whitacre's "Cloudburst"!

I'll be there tomorrow. It should be a lot of fun! If the fire alarm goes off like last year, I am just going to snap.

I still can't believe that happened! I was wondering why you were calling me while a corps was on when you should have been watching them!

Or...you'd be a fool like me to buy a ticket for someone who ended up not going.
