Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 This is a clash of the undefeated between The Blue Devils and The Cavaliers. The East finally meets the West and we get our first look at how things will really compare. Quote
Danpod Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I think that tonight, we'll find that this is a three horse race. Spartacus gets mad when you exclude him. In the end, I predict a Blue Devils win. Quote

Danpod Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 It'll be interesting to see how the Blue Knights fare. They took some shows off this week and when they came back, they shot themselves up from borderline Finalist to a fight for 7th place. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Amanda Drinkwater is judging Music Performance. Quote

Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Mandarins did alright. A lot better than 2 weeks ago. I really like The Troopers' Preshow leading to a big hello chord. Quote

Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 I love everything about this Trooper's show. The show is really greatly designed musically and visually and is really entertaining. It is lacking in the difficulty department, but oh well. Quote

Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 The music from that Scouts show is really starting to grow on me, but the drill has issues. Quote
Danpod Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 It's hard to clean drill when your uniform has changed for the last four years straight. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 The Cavies' ball dropping through the block move is a work of beauty. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 I maintain that a Cavaliers show just isn't worth it if you aren't watching the awesome drill. I wish there was more playing and that the music was more varied during the show. Quote

Fantastic visual program though. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Hahahaha. Phantom is Dragging, Beating, Abusing, Punching, Kicking the guard onto the field. Quote

Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Wow. Watching the Drum Major just calmly walk up and slit the throat of the female guard member during the love scene gets me every time. Quote

Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 I love everything about the bold design of Phantom's show, but they better get their Visual Ensemble act together. They couldn't hold a line to save that guard member's life. Quote
Danpod Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Phantom seems to have a lot of little visual adjustments to make. That could be what is holding them back. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 I hope the train goes by before SCV starts. Quote
Xenon Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 SCV has my favorite set of drill concepts of the season, and I love all of the musical pieces individually, they just don't seem to come together to make a real Vanguard show. Quote
