whitewing09 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 ahhh school starts in two days, I can't wait for Monday night practice Quote
sweetmac_05 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 We had our 'Meet the band' night yesterday, too, but the band wasn't able to march the show. Basically, we stepped outside, saw a looming black raincloud of death...and headed to the stage to play inside. And then we had a movie night where we learned that percussion girls + scary movies = not a happy combo. Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 looming black raincloud of death... lmao wow I hate when we have to go inside because of rain, unless it's pouring, I rather stay outside and tough it out Quote
b_sax_agent Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I hate rain regardless. Plus the woodwinds can't bring their instruments out in the rain. Quote
sweetmac_05 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I'm definitely not a fan of rain either. Our Thursday rehearsal basically consisted of: "Pit set up outside." "There's a storm on the horizon...move inside!" "Oh, never mind, it's done. Sunny skies ahead. Get back on the field." "OH MY GOUDA, LIGHNING, TORRENTIAL RAINS, RUUUUUN!!!!" And so on. We didn't get too much rehearsing done, pit-wise... But we definitely cut down on our set up time! Quote
b_sax_agent Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I guess there are some uses for it... We rehearse music when inside. And make 15,000,000 changes. Like in our first movement, the woodwinds rest for like 2000 measures then come in, but we're thinking about playing random stuff to represent impeading chaos. Quote
