Some of these contest sites have been consistent for a number of years. Props to Area G for landing The Alamodome for Area!!! That's going to be a great experience for all those kids. Quote
thetransfer Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Area B was at Standridge in Carrollton last year. I thought it was supposed to be there again? (I thought they changed sites every two years) Quote

(I thought they changed sites every two years) The Region 25 calendar shows that 5A Area B will be at Pennington Field. UIL does realign every four years but I don't believe there is a stipulation that an Area has to hold their contest as a certain site. Maybe there's an event scheduled for Standrige already. Quote
b_sax_agent Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 well, this is the third time our band has gone to Area at Pennington I don't know about beofre 2004 Quote
b_sax_agent Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 wait. I was thinking of another contest. We went to Carrollton. opps. Maybe I shouldn't say anything after 3 hours of sleep... Quote
aly_lynn Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I heard a rumor that State UIL wasn't going to be in the Alamodome this year. Is that true? Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 That would be very weird, seeing as it is the only place that's safe from weather, but who knows? Quote
treblemaker Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Ugh! Those darn rocks from the turf at Round Rock!! They always get in my shoes and we march there 4 times this year! Quote

JustAddWat3r Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 If I recall correctly... Last year, region 5 was at the MISD stadium. 2 years ago, region 5 was at Pennington Field and Area B was at Standridge Stadium. I don't remember Area being at Pennington Field ever since i was in band... But then again I've only been in band for 2 years. Quote

whitewing09 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Thanks We really want to make state, for the first time in ever.. we're cutting the size of our band to 110 from 140, we don't want all the people with attitude. Quote
b_sax_agent Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) We're doing 120. 60 brass and 60 woodwinds. Edited August 8, 2008 by b_sax_agent Quote

(including pitt drumline and colorguard) it was sad because last year even the 3A bands were bigger than us. haha not that that stopped of from doing good. It's just really hard to compete with large bands when you don't have the power they have. and everything sticks out 10000 times more in a small band. But we got back up to 155 this year! im excited Quote
whitewing09 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 we marched 140 in 2006, the biggest train wreck ever lol Quote

whitewing09 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Well we had no problems like that, it's just a lot of attitude came with 20 of those people Quote

I jsut found out today we are only marching 80 winds this year out of lke 130 so im interested to see who is going to be marching and such. we are going to be so small. inclduing drumline and such we will have 117 performers on the field. up from 111 last year Quote
