Haha, I was sitting right in front of the Cavies when they were committing seppuku. I'm pretty sure it was because of them not winning.

Crossmen Wrap Up Very Successful Season!

By Gary Cuzzocrea Published 08/10/2008 Crossmen Alumni News

Although they missed out on the finals by a few tenths of a point, there is no doubt that the 2008 Crossmen season will be remembered as a tremendous success and as a launching pad for bigger and better things.

On and off the field, the corps presented themselves with professionalism and pride that did not go unnoticed. Fans, competitors, alumni and even DCI itself commented all season long on the unbelievable improvement the corps made from last year, advancing three placements from 2007. There was also special notice taken of how much confidence they displayed in presenting their very popular "Planet X" program. This was a young corps, but a corps with a determined level of focus and a love for performing that will be allowed to grow and be nurtured for years to come.

Special congratulations go out to Meghan Huber, drum major, and Mark Chambers, director of the corps. Meghan received the Jim Jones Leadership Award from DCI and Mark received the highly coveted and well deserved DCI Director of the Year Award.

The Crossmen Alumni Association would like to congratulate all the members, age-outs, volunteers, instructional staff, support staff and administrative staff on giving us such a memorable season. We wish you all the best as you prepare for an even more successful 2009!

Yeah.

Even from the stands you could tell how angry the Blue Devils were.

I was a little shocked at how they acted.

And I agree. Second place Corps must always be the classiest.

Expecting to see class from the Blue Devils is like...well, nevermind

No please continue... I can disagree with how they acted at retreat... but it's understandable. Blue devils lost to phantom/cavvies once in the entire season! They were clearly the favorites. Not to mention the fact that phantom had to go get their guard equipment before the encore, which is the reason that the encore ran behind schedule. To top it off, both bd a and b got 2nd place with a combined total of .075(in both corps) while they were both heavy favorites (bdb beat vanguard cadets by 2+ points in quarters). So while I do not like how blue devils acted, I can see the reason behind it. And trust me, bd can show class, so don't say they can't.

Really? I'm pretty sure I've had closer encounters with them over the past two years than you have, and I have yet to see very much. Especially playing encore with them after shows

I believe EVERY corps can and does show class just because of the nature of the activity. I'm not sure how to type why I believe this (I'd probably sound like an idiot if I did) but this is my personal opinion. I can, however, see where you're coming from, so I'm sorry if I came off as harsh.

I know that when the Bluecoats perform after the Boston Crusaders, at least it used to be like this, the Boston Crusaders would hold their horns with their middle fingers sticking up.

No class.

I was somewhat angered by the way some of the Blue Devils were acting after they learned they received second place.

*shakes head*

They forget they are role models to a lot of young and old people.
