Santa Clara Vanguard Director Steps Down

Jeff Pearson was officially the Corps Director for only three seasons, from 2006 - 2008. That's a relatively short time to have a director around, especially for a top 12 corps. He definitely helped out a lot with making Vanguard a well-rounded organization. However, I can't help but think that Jeff Fiedler is going to step in pretty soon and become Corps Director.

I can't see that happening. If he were to do that then I think he would have just stayed with the Cavaliers. But I suppose anythings possible.

I kind of saw this coming to tell you the truth

I sure didn't. I wonder if Pearson's short stay as Vanguard Director was something planned from the get-go.

As far as I know, Jeff only retired from director at Cavaliers because he wanted a more administrative or board of directors type position. If he still wanted to be a corps director I don't think he would have left in the first place.

That was my thinking too

I can see your arguement. When Tom Aungst left Hoppy and the Cadets, his reasons made me think he'd never return to drum corps, and now he's with Blue Stars, even if it is only a consultant position.

Fiedler just might come out of retirement. We've seen people leave the biz and get "the itch" back.
