TX Suh-nare Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 There are 20 World Class drum & bugle corps out on the field, and it can be hard to find one that's "right for you." After trying out at other places, I am happy to say that the Troopers is the right one for me. And it is for other vets. In 2008, the Troopers had a 65% vet retention rate in the horn line. That's one of the highest return rates in all of drum corps, even among the "top tier" corps. The corps reached semifinals for the first time in 13 years last summer, and we are only planning to go further. Not only competitively, but as a group. The family I have from Troop is unbelievable and is willing to do anything I need them to, even if they do live in Colorado or Idaho. I know there are several corps to choose from, but if you want a summer you can remember with a hard working, intense group of people, consider the Troopers. Log on to http://troopersdrumcorps.org/ for details. It'll be easy to find your way to register for camps. HLD Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 After what I've seen for the past two years, the troopers are definitely heading in the right direction. I even bought a Troopers shirt this year in support of them! (of course I couldn't wear it until after tour was over...) Funny story, I was wearing a troopers shirt in wal-mart yesterday, and one of the employees came up to me and asked me if I marched there. Turns out he marched there back in the 90's. What are the odds.. Quote
TX Suh-nare Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Dude, that happens on tour a lot. I've run into Troopers that aged out in 1962! I've run into construction workers that marched in the 70s, Trooper alum all over DCI (working and building other corps). It's nuts. Quote
