I'm not sure I've ever seen a 1-2 no-caption finish before, but Lawrence Central (Indiana) just repeated their BOA feat of winning a competition without winning any captions. The first time was BOA GN 2001 and the 2nd time was tonight at the BOA Sound Check at the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Quote

Moose Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 The caption awards were taken from prelims scores. Hebron was 2nd overall in prelims and didn't win any captions. In finals, they placed first in a couple captions and took 1st. Quote

That's really the only way they could've lost after winning two captions. I'm guessing top four was uber-close. But woot! go Hebron!!!! Edit: Nvm... I just read that captions were from prelims... radchad Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Dang. Mansfield's Guard is sexy. They were rockin' today. Coppell's sound was fantastic. I usually get bored with their shows(no offense, guys) but man do they sound GOOD. Hebron was very good. I didn't expect that. Nor did I expect Sachse to be in the running for 1st. I was mighty impressed. Let's hope this is foreshadow to a great season. And dang. I have to say. How hard must it be to judge bands who don't have their show finished compared to ones who do? I mean, yes you gotta judge what is there.. but I am talking about spots where nothing is going on. Doesn't standing still and everything take away from the GE? Quote
