HechYeah08 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Random Question for you folks who have been to the Alamodome a million times... Does the Alamodome have WiFi? Is the "San Antonio Free WiFi" that is around the city available at the Alamodome? Or is it a T-Mobile hot spot or anything? Reason I ask is that I will be there for State Marching on Nov 4th which most of you know is the same night as the Presidential election. I would like to follow the election while I watch the contest. PS: I'll be rooting for both Coppell and Obama that night... Thanks in advance for anyone who can help answer this! Quote
Danpod Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The Alamodome does not have Wi-Fi. To my knowledge, the city does not have a city-wide wi-fi deal. It's probably just a hot spot. Quote

That happened at BOA San Antonio as well. I thought it was because they were doing the live broadcast and we were able to pick up the signal. Quote

You mean you figured you'd managed to connect to the network the camera truck was using to transmit their live broadcast? I actually kind of wonder how they do all that....I mean does it work like newscasters where they have a big ol' dish that they beam off to some satellite or something or do they just have access to a really high bandwidth pipe that they're wired to where they're streaming it directly to the MFA website and the hundreds of people that were connected to it for the webcast. They utilize an internet connection at the location to live stream to the MFA (now DCI) site and then everybody downloads from there. Quote
