You guys could probably get in towards the first block if you wanted. Although im sure us in the first block would want to catch up on sleep . Were having to be at our band hall at 2 am. I definitely want to watch the last 2 blocks after we preform. Quote

Yeah I'm pretty sure we aren't even going home after the football game and just staying the night in the band hall. Which is way more convenient on my part because I didn't want to go home sleep for a couple of hours then wake myself up and try to safely drive myself back to school. Haha. But all day contests are really my favorite! Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 unfortunately, i probably wont get to see any bands. Unless we arrive ahead of schedule... Quote
treyj Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 i will see all of prelims! along with pretty much everyone else in summit band :] but we cant stay for finals band party that night Quote

And apparently the other band might not be there because they will be in Laredo for a competition. Can you imagine a bandless high school football game!? Quote

marcomac29 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 yeah i remember when i was in 8th grade i went to the Area marching contest with my dad, and they were like now on the field from arlington texas please welcome summit high school! and i was like.... lolwut? But if i'm not mistaken isn't t-view in Grand Prarie? Someone check my math on that, because idk for sure. Quote

T-view is in arlington and they have about an equal number of students from Grand Prarie, Mansfield, and Arlington. Mansfield is... in Mansfield... and we're all from.... you guessed it... Mansfield... Now... Legacy was brand new last year, so they let students transfer to it if they wanted to. While their zoned for the downtown area of Mansfield and Burleson/Retta, most of their students are from... Everywhere pretty much... haha our school district is weird. No lies. Quote
Xenon Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Even more weird is that the school that is now Mansfield Summit used to be Mansfield High. Then they built the NEW Mansfield High and renamed the old one Mansfield Summit. And they took all the trophies and stuff with them, but the old Mansfield High girls basketball coach stayed at the same school which is now Mansfield Summit. Confused yet? Quote

Confused yet? ahhhh... the days before the school's split.... that would be a 700+ member band give or take... and we would win state hands down... seriously... think about it. Mansfield + summit + t-view + legacy... 7 years ago their were 500 people in mansfield's band then they split... is that not ridiculous!?!?! Quote
radchad Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Well actually, now the original Mansfield High School is Wester Middle School. I think the North Campus turned into Summit High School. If I am not mistaken. And remember Brandt. Last year didn't you guys perform at BOA Arlington at like 9:30 in the morning? Or was that Cathedral Windows year? Quote

"you took the name, but we took the game" haha which is true... don't think they've really ever beat us at anything.... friendly rivalry though Quote

MHS used to be the building by our old stadium which then turned into mary orr, which then turned into the alternative education... and before that it was the 100 year old building in the downtown area next to the baseball field (this is Mansfield ISD's 100th year!!!)
