Xenon Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 It isn't going to take nearly as long as Area G with 37 bands. Quote
bjacuna4 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Ok I just got the order of performance for Area D from my director a few minutes ago. This is the order drawn from Hays this afternoon. steg5 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 WOOOO! Leander is still in the first block! :] Happy we're not going first or second though. Quote

just_a_texas_girl Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Anyone have confirmation on this order and exact times? That is a long day for SA bands and other outlining areas..... Quote
titancoaster Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I have seen the schedule and that is the correct order, umm I know that Bowie is 5:45, Connally is 2:30, and the first preformance is at 8:30, that is all i remember from the schedule (UIL emailed it to the directors) Quote
treblemaker Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo! It will be okay. I promise! In 06 Leander went 2nd and still made Finals. Going 2nd is pretty much as bad as going 1st. You gotta make the best of what you got and just throw it out there so the judges are sure not to forget you. Plus this is how I look at it, you start out in first place. PS. The weather is always much nicer in the morning. So you don't have to worry about melting out of your uniform. :] Edited October 22, 2008 by treblemaker Quote
musicaidnow Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Good luck Cedar Park, I know you guys are going to own, and good luck to the rest of the bands going. Quote
treblemaker Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) State Finalists 06/07: Connally(4a) Vista Ridge(4a) Akins Churchill Bowie Reagan Area Finalists 06: Georgetown Leander Pflugerville Westlake Cedar Park Round Rock By this list alone at least 2 bands who were formally AREA/STATE finalists in 2006 or 2007 will not make it on to Area finals this year. This is just not even fair.. Edited October 22, 2008 by treblemaker Quote
Danpod Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I was at the draw today. Very cool stuff and the snacks were great. Give me a few minutes and I'll post up something. Quote

Danpod Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 The Area people said that the schedule would be up on the Region 18 website by tonight. I will be at Area D in the afternoon and all through Finals. I'll be with Smithson Valley so just look for the strapping young lad in the gray shirt running up the stands when they go on. After the performance, just look for the Txbands.com shirt. Stop by, say hello, and if you're nice, I might purchase some water or nachos for you =) Quote
TRUMPet Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 wow so excited this will be awsome. it kinda sucks for people like regan and gtown going through changes and such to have to try and fight from first block. but there is always hope (no not luck, just hope. they have to earn it (i though id clear that up ) Quote

titancoaster Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 ^I would add ROund Rock if I were you they are doing amazing this year so Danpod, will you be up in the stands for Connally's performance? Quote
Shadow Weaver Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Connally, Vista Ridge, and New Braunfels are all former members of highly competitive 4A Area E. I am curious to see how all three do now that they are in 5A. They were all very successful in 4A and have multiple 4A State Final appearances amongst them. Quote

I'll be in the warm-up lot while you are performing. In fact, when you guys leave warm-up, the program I work for will be replacing your program in the warm-up area! I hope you all have a good performance and I'll probably see you guys in the lot. Quote

I saw them at Rocket Review a couple weeks back. How are they doing since then? Have you seen Steele and Seguin so far this year? I expect to see them contending for 4A state next year! Quote

Shadow Weaver Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Connally and Vista Ridge were 4a Area D. Was it Area D last year? Area E and D often swap, but I was sure last year it was Area E...regardless, all three were in the same Area last year...I believe this was the ranking order from prelims to finals.
