I can get a pretty consistent double c... i've gotten a few clear triples (i'll see if i can find a recording...) I've stopped working on getting my range higher, and started working on getting lip trills on all the notes in the range... If i were to scream out a double g in our show, i'd be in the Austin Morgue, and my director would be in the Austin Municipal Jail... Anyone trying out for DCI?? i'm considering going to a camp: any suggestions? TRtrumpet Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 Yeah, I'd decided along time ago that I was going to do it and I've been preparing for it for a few months but now I'm not so sure. I think I'm just going to try out for X-men. Quote

Trumpet 2009 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Hello, I'm a decent trumpet player. I really feel like I'm not that good when my section leader plays his high notes though. Just lookin' for more trumpet players though. Quote

Never, EVER let a trumpet player that plays high notes make you feel like you aren't that good. I can play high, yeah...so what? Sound quality and technique matter a WHOLE lot more than being able to play high. I admit, playing high is "cool," but it does not make you a better player. I know one too many guys that play high that REALLY REALLY suck because that is all they work on rather than the stuff that matters. Not to mention 90% of them use mouthpieces for screaming wimps. By the way, I agree with the :Well that was.... un-trumpet-like" comment...HA HA HA.... Quote
MassacrMan Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Trumpet- Bach Stradivarius model 37 Mouthpiece- 3C Range- E above the staff Chair- (marching season no chair) :-D Quote
king_kool360 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) ZOMG! I TRIED A 3C THIS WEEKEND! IT WAS FREAKIN AMAZING! I COULD HIT AN E ABOVE THE STAFF LIKE IT WAS NOTHING- WITHOUT EVEN WARMING UP! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! I wonder how high I could play with a "cheater" mouthpiece. bluebellbrass07 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Yeah man right on! Playing high E's above the staff without warming up does WONDERS for your trumpet playing!!! Quote
king_kool360 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I can't tell whether or not you're serious... Quote
bluebellbrass07 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Omg are you kidding me. That was a response to your post. If you didn't get the sarcasm in that I'm even more worried about you Quote
king_kool360 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 No, I was saying that you had confused me into wondering whether hitting those notes without warmups is good or bad... Which I'm still left high and dry. Quote
