BassoonPadwan Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 We had this freshman tuba player last year who couldn't to save his life, get through atleast two weeks of marching band without falling atleast once. He fell many time throughout the season, and one of the times he fell, he got his tuba bell to kind of be, folded over itself. He only fell once though at an actual performance. The one time he did fall though during a performance, we were in our second movement(there were four) which had a lot of velocity, and direction changes. Needless to say he didn't have the experience yet to get back in the drill. So he backwards marched to the back sideline and just stood at attention the rest of the show. Talk about EMBARASSING . A lot of people had a field day that night when we were watching the video. Quote

Nancy08 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 This wasn't a fall, but last year we were at practice and I was running back to our opening set. Usually I hold my tenor with one hand to keep it from putting alot of pressure on my neck, but i decided i could run faster if I didn't. I let go but when I did the hook on the end of the neckstrap snapped in half and my horn did cartwheels down the field. It never worked the same after that. Quote
cinco_4_life811 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 During finals at SHSU I was in the stands watching the remaining bands perform, and as Pearland was playing we noticed that there was a shoe on the field (lost by some poor marcher). The funny part was watching people march over it, stumbling because they are unaware that it was there. Nobody ever fell, but it sure was fun watching Quote

gavinrh Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 pearland marched machine? was it anything like the cavalier's show? Quote
PrideOfPearland Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 no it was nothing like the cavalier's show because we did that show before the cavis did. the songs we used were whitacre's ghost train and william bolcoms "machine" (which the cavies used in one of their previous show). Quote
