Looking at the potential Finals race this year, this is gonna be another good year for the semis corps kicking and scratching into Saturday night! Indeed! I went through that last year Man was it a great experience though, and standing on the field finals night was just...remarkable. Quote

I'm still trying to figure out about how to audition for Crossmen as well...that's so I can march this year for sure. It's not a good idea to think that you can march any corps for sure. You could be very good but have a completely different style than the corps and they might not want you for that. I've heard of many stories about people who get cut from non-finalist corps, and then go on to get into a finalist corps that year. Quote
xbones7480 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 (edited) Additude and Personality play a HUGE role in the Crossmen audition process. They pick people who want to be Crossmen. They had too many trumpets at the December camp so unless you play mellophone, you're chances are slim. Bari line is overflowing with talent too. Here are some pics from December: December Auditions Facebook Album Edited December 30, 2008 by xbones7480 Quote

xbones7480 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I'm from PA and being in TX for the Dec Camp was amazing! I love this corps!!! Quote
Dusty Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I tried out for the Crossmen euphonium section and the December camp was my first camp with the corps. I got a callback to the January camp, and I really hope I make it. I didn't have time at all to try out for any other corps, so it's either Crossmen or being in the audience again. Quote
MemphisSoundDirector Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 The first full camp for Memphis Sound in Dallas is Jan 23-25th. Satelite Auditions are almost done, just one more date in St Louis, MO, and videotape auditions. You can still audition at camp, though percussionists are encouraged to audition via videotape before hand due to numbers of auditionees Quote

At least you still have some years. I have this year and next year. And then I age out. I have never been able to march. I could not afford to try out this year so I get 1 year to march. Quote
MemphisSoundDirector Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Yes, people can still audition at the camp. Quote

tubanerd126 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Carolina Crown is in need of talented mellos and contras for the 2009 season. There are only a handful of spots left in each section. If you want to be a part of a World Class finalist corps go to carolinacrown.org for more information about audition camp, which the next on is March 20-22. Quote
