jbroomas Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 I have to say that Westfield did an outstanding job tonight. They seem to have pulled a lot together in a weeks time. Although this is not the Westfield we all know, I think that it will do very well at UIL....but I have to say that I miss the old Westfield a lot. With the synths. I'm guessing this new director is trying to pull them more towards the UIL judging system. It's hard to say. Quote
takigan Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Quote With the synths. ...dear god, lol. Name me a show that uses more synth effects/sounds than Westfield 2004 or 2005 and you get a marching band cookie. I don't think it's possible. Quote
WBHB Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 This was a fabulous event put on by The Woodlands Band and Booster Club. Kudo's for the great effort. We ran into a couple of kids from The Woodlands at lunch, and they were polite, energetic, and delightful to talk with. They did their organization proud! The Brazoswood band put on a great show, as did Westfield, Clearbrook, Friendswood, and Cy Falls. And those kids from Travis surprised the entire field with a 6th place finish with a band containing 12 seniors. Wow! Where did this band come from? How good will they be in a couple of years? It will be fun to watch...... Quote
aly_lynn Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I really enjoyed this contest--all the bands performed extremely well. One of my favorite bands of the night was Friendswood. I thought they would have placed a little bit higher, but there was some stiff competition from the other bands. After hearing about BOA Houston, I was expecting Westfield's show to be less than perfect, but I enjoyed it. They must have really done a lot of work in a weeks time. They aren't the same Westfield I knew in high school, but different is not always bad. Quote
cattleman007 Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 How about the Grand champions. Did anyone like the show "walking with Angels"? Quote

Nothing against either show, as I loved them both Quote
