Xenon
How many bands do they take out of area F????? Take the number of bands and divide by 5 to get your answer. 31 / 5 = 6 bands advancing.
bandie002
8:30 CLEAR BROOK8:45 THE WOODLANDS 10:45 COLLEGE PARK 1:30 SPRING 2:15 WESTFIELD 4:15 BRAZOSWOOD Are my predictions. Never know though because of the way UIL is judged, unexpected bands may make it. Either way, good luck to everyone on saturday!
Donezo
I'm really hoping Dickinson will nab a spot. They've been awfully quiet this year, but that's the norm for them. Did anyone see them at region?
ClaireAnnette07
I really hope Channelview places well...I saw their show on Friday night and it was the best show they've had on the field since at least 2005. I'm really proud of them for advancing to Area despite the competition and despite lost practice time from Ike Of course, I am biased seeing as how I graduated from there in '
Mel-O
Not all of these bands made a Division 1 at their region, therefore aren't competing at Area any more. As of right now I believe there are 22 for sure competing. However I could be wrong.
ClaireAnnette07
Yeah, I think these are the only schools to advance to 5A area from regions 19 & 17 Clear Lake Clear Brook Clear Creek Brazoswood Alvin Northshore Channelview Pasadena Rayburn Dickinson Pasadena Memorial Pearland Aldine McArthur Deer Park
JediSaxSolis
I'm really hoping Dickinson will nab a spot. They've been awfully quiet this year, but that's the norm for them. Did anyone see them at region? We played Dickinson at a football game last week, and they also marched directly after us at UIL Region contest. From what I could see, they play their music very well. I'm not so sure how difficult the marching drill is, but the musicality is executed well.
bandie002
are there still going to be 6 bands taken to state regardless of the new numbers due to UIL?
AverageMarcher
i dont think these prelim times are accurate anymore.

AverageMarcher
i dont think they announce anything else beyond the qualifiers and the alternate. unless the recap covers how everything was scored...
ClaireAnnette07
ohh okay...I mean, it's been two years since I was in marching band, so maybe I just forgot how UIL works..sorry lol Thanks, anyway!

Donezo
Clear Brook didn't even make finals. And i thought they had a pretty good show this year Wow! That's a big shock. Who did make finals?
JediSaxSolis
Wow! That's a big shock. Who did make finals? Finalist bands were (in no particular order): Clear Lake Dickinson Brazoswood Westfield Tomball Klein Spring The Woodlands North Shore Pearland The Clear Brook situation was disappointing. I thought they would be a shoe-in for finals. Rumor has it that one judge had them placed 17th, and that threw them out.
Kevin2009
Wow! That's a big shock. Who did make finals? 1. Brazoswood 2. Westfield 3. Spring 4. Northshore 5. Clear Lake 6. Woodlands 7. Pearland 8. Dickinson 9. Klein 10. Tomball ... Anthony you would beat me to posting it.. nice Clear Brook got 15, i believe. Our director gave us the recap sheet, but it's in my car
thesaxchica
There were a couple of bizarre prelims results. I don't know the full order because most of it I was told (I was marching in University of Houston marching band, and we didn't stay to hear results.) From what I was told, the Woodlands got 6th in prelims. Also, Clear Brook (my alumni) reportedly got 14th in prelims, and from what I heard, they thought they had a really great show. Both bands went on early in the morning, and that could have something to do with it. Can't wait to see the score sheets, should be.... interesting, is the word I would use.
