ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I'm definitely going to have to say Rowlett. I didn't get a chance to see many of the Area B bands, which is really disappointing. I did see Marcus, Haltom, and Hebron, but we all know that they're State caliber. What do you think? Quote
Donezo Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) Rowlett and Connally. Both were the best they've ever been this year. :-( Edited October 28, 2008 by Donezo Quote
ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 I didn't get to see Connally, but I have to agree with the Rowlett one. They're playing was so different this year. Not all loud and massive like usual, but kind of relaxed. It was kind a of a different feel. I liked it alot. And the visual was pretty great. Quote
rpd Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Georgetown and Connally. Saw them at BOA Arlington, and both there shows were fantastic. Quote

I did see the video of Georgetown at Area, and I absolutely loved their music. The marching looked slightly difficult as well. Didn't they go on first in Area though? That's always disappointing. The judges have so much time to forget how good you were. Quote
CaviBoy09 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Clear Brook, Which was a big shock to my system Quote
borchnork Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I didn't get to see many bands this year, as a lack of being in high school, obviously. I think that Flower Mound was one of the better bands I saw that didn't make it to state. Quote
the terminator Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 true rowlett is one of them, but i got to say mansfield i only saw them online, but they look so strong this year compared to previous years that i was stunned Quote
ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Well apparently Connally was a pretty big surprise. I wish I could have seen their show =/ Quote
radchad Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) Connally(without a doubt) and Mansfield. Edited October 28, 2008 by radchad Quote
ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Geez. Hopefully a video comes out. I need to see Connally, the Woodlands, and Richland, which I haven't seen. My main two were Rowlett and Georgetown. I never saw Georgetown live but I saw their Area performance on video. And I saw Rowlett live all the time, because we have rehearsal right after them every week in the stadium lol. They deserved to make it this year. It was kind of a confusing year. But there are a bunch of extremely strong bands going, for sure. Quote
longhorn2190 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Hey what happened to Reagan? I know they made 5th in State 2 years ago but they didn't make it this year to state. was competition just really stacked? Quote
takigan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Pretty much. I mean Ronald freaking Reagan barely made finals, lol.... This competition was very stacked. Quote
Donezo Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 It was indeed a stacked contest. Also, since 2006 Reagan experienced a head director switch and split into a new high school. They're in a transitional phase right now and I hope to see them back on top soon. Quote
ndnorris7 Posted October 29, 2008 Author Posted October 29, 2008 Never got to see Reagan either. =/ Quote

Thanks :] Yeah, we went on first at Area, so there was a really hard chance for us to make finals seeing how so many bands went on after us. But that's alright. We worked really hard this season and we're proud of the improvements we made. We missed BOA SA finals by 5 places (19th), and that's the highest we've ever placed at that contest (we went on 6th on Friday prelims), and we're very proud of that. It's alright that State didn't work out for us. Quote
Clint Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I would say Mansfield because they had a flipping good show this year. Quote
radchad Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I have an addition to my list: Rowlett. DEF should be at state. Quote
borchnork Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I saw Rowlett on TV last night randomly. And I was thinking "YAY! I get to see this show live at state!" and then I realized.... they didn't make it... But they WAY should have. Also, did Wylie Make state? If not, I'd say Wylie should have. Quote
