ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 So, how bout them Longhorns? Gotta give credit to McCoy this season. The Horns are owning. I think the win over Mizzou shocked everybody into believing it. HOOK EM HORNS. Next victim, Tech. Quote
CPFrntEns Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 McCoy for the Heisman!! Yep, I'm a longhorn fan too, and sorry musicaidnow, but your raiders are gonna lose their perfect record this saturday... Quote
rpd Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Im actually more of a Tech fan, not die hard though. But in the next three weeks Tech faces UT, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma. So I'm pulling for UT only because if they past tech, there the best chance of a Texas school in the national championship game. Because I don't think Tech will get past Texas OR Oklahoma. Quote
ndnorris7 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Aggie dominance over the Longhorns is going to end this year. Quote
LikeABandNerd Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Quote sorry musicaidnow, but your raiders are gonna lose their perfect record this saturday... Ouch, I wonder if he is going to take that lying down... I wouldn't put it beyond the red raiders to make this one a real nail-biter for us though. Expect a showdown in Lubbock. LHB will be there. bonepit06-07 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 although going to tempe sucks(we deserve to go Miami) UT is gonna OWN Ohio St I HOPE and then at least well get a share of the title Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 UT will totally pwn Ohio State. I wish I could be there in Arizona to see all of the action, but I'll have to settle for a watch party at home. HOOK EM HORNS!! TEXAAAAS FIGHT! Quote
Gracelyd33 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I have a funny story on the UT-Tech game.. My brother goes to UT and my father is a Tech Alumni and for that game they sat down in the living room to watch it with my mother between them(: At the end of the game all you can hear is my brother: "Go! Go! Go! G..Noooooooooo! Getttt Himmmmmm!" Haha it was so funny(: Even though I really wanted to UT to win. Quote
ClaireAnnette07 Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 LOL You should have heard the watch party that had formed in my dorm...it was chaos when Texas scored the touchdown, then full-blown anger when Tech got the ball and scored, too. My roomie and I were very disappointed not to see the tower lit burnt orange that night *tear* It's 5:48, and OU still sucks..as well as Ohio Quote
Dynasty Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 It was a great game, to say the least. Very stressful, but at least it had a better result than the Tech game. Quote
treblemaker Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 5 straight bowl game losses and 4 attempts at the national title and you only get one? Explain to me why people think OU is better? Quote
rpd Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 OU is more consistent than UT when it comes to regular season games. Oklahoma is ALWAYS in a BCS bowl. Texas was in the Alamo bowl recently. UT tends to find a quarterback then ride them until they end up in the NFL, then oops, we gotta find a new one. Works great when there a junior or senior, but they typically lack when it comes to their freshman and sophomore year. They did it with Simms, somewhat with Young, and of course with McCoy. I know the QB isn't everything, but they do mean the most. UT may have the advantage next year with McCoy being a senior, and Bradford possibly being in the NFL. As for this year it was truly a toss up on who was better. Each side had its case. UT beat OU head to head, yet OU annihilated a team that beat UT. And no, I'm not a fan of either UT or OU. Quote
GuitarJoe Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) Without fail, OU loses another BCS bowl game and another OU fans' crying face is plastered all over the internet Edited January 9, 2009 by GuitarJoe Quote
LikeABandNerd Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Oh wow. Links to that OU band girl picture were plastered to facebook status lines pretty much within seconds of it being shown live on Fox... doesn't everyone love drama? and sports politics?? This season was quite a wild ride and I think I concur with Dynasty when I say that it was awesome to right there in the thick of it every Saturday (or Thursday). Quote
radchad Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 If OU sucks, why did they get picked for the National Championship game over UT? Go look up the scores for all the games of UT and compare them to the scores OU had every game. Hook 'em? Pssht. BOOMER SOONERS all the way. Quote
bc1 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 (edited) Only one thing to say to you. 45-35 Edited January 12, 2009 by bc1 Quote

Hook 'em? Pssht. BOOMER SOONERS all the way. First of all OU doesn't suck. Secondly, stats can be deceiving. When you play your starters all four quarters to run up the score, sure, you're going to have 60+ games. Not a good contention if you're trying to prove OU is better than Texas. Also, it is a mute point to try to prove that this year for the single fact that they lost to Texas. OU got picked mostly because they lost early, and they know how to impress voters with running up the score. Quote
