Anyway, for competition, we're almost definitely going to be playing Mackey's Kingfishers Catch Fire and Hindemith's Symphony in Bb. We haven't decided on the march yet. I think we're going to try and play part of Symphony in Bb at our Christmas concert. I thought your band played Symphony in Bb at the UT State Wind Ensemble last year? ...Or was that Bowie? Quote

It's definitely one of my favorite pieces for band ever. The symphonic band at Drip is playing Easter Monday this year along with Cityscape by Scott Boerma and Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann (happy farmer) by Robert Jager. Quote
titancoaster Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 ^With Heart and Voice was my favorite piece we played in the Region Band last year. We played Easter Monday a few years ago, its alot of fun, definantly one of my favorite Sousa pieces. Nellhybel is a beast, we played Trittico last year, and that was just rediculous, I can only imagine the same from Symphonic Movement. The CHS Varsity Band is playing Gum-suckers March by Grainger, Whatsoever Things by Camphouse, and Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstien. Quote

We played it two years ago when I was a freshman. It's a whole lot of fun. Quote

Yeah, I think we've got a really good lineup this year. We're not very good at watchman yet, becuase we've mostly been rehersing the other two for the midwest submission, but from what I can tell it's a very beautiful piece. Quote
