Xenon Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Wow. GN Semis has been great, but it has already been a really long day going through 33 bands, 1 exhibition, and one more exhibition going on now. The Club Level seats are reserved ($90!!) for Semi's, so we are sitting in section 240 on the 50 at the top of the lower level. Yesterday I said that the sound in the Club Level was great, but here it is even better! You get more of the power and less of the boom. Riverside Community College is giving an exhibition right now, but after that I will be posting the Semifinals results live on http://live.txbands.com My personal picks for finals are (not a judge): (in order or semis performance) Marian Catholic Lawrence Central Kennesaw Mountain Center Grove Tarpon Springs LD Bell West Bloomfield Centerville Broken Arrow Carmel Avon Lafayette I could possibly replace West Bloomfield with PCEP. They had a MUCH better run here in semis than they had in prelims, I just don't think that it was enough. If West Bloomfield doesn't make it, it will mostly be because of individual marching which had a lot of problems. Quote

bluebellbrass07 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Apparently playing la fiesta mexicana incredibly out of tune is effective. Good for avon Quote

This should be a REALLY interesting finals. Might we see another 2001 repeat? Split captions with Bell winning music, Lawrence Central winning none, and then taking the eagle? Quote

I think lawrence central was awesome, their show is original and very well performed. As far as avon, I dont think a band that plays like that should be in first place. That was my mine disagreement with placements On a side note, I can not WAIT to see Bell's new ending. And on another side note, I would really like to see Tarpon in the top 3 and avon out Quote
GuitarJoe Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Well, if politics play a part tonight, it's Avons turn to win. Quote

I think Avon will take Visual though and Bell still takes Music. I'm willing to bet the GE caption is up for grabs and wont nessecarily determine the winner this year. Quote

How sweet would that be, maybe even the last three to perform? haha ok, i'm dreaming here. Quote

Donezo Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm rooting for Avon. They were kind of robbed last year. *ducks for cover* Didn't watch it live though so I don't really know what's going on. Can't wait to see what happens tonight! Quote
GuitarJoe Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 (edited) I'd like to see Tarpon Springs finish well. Always liked their shows. Edited November 15, 2008 by GuitarJoe Quote

Fata1 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 That kind of sucks for Bell. They'll have to put an amazing performance on the field and really set the bar for the rest of the bands. Quote
