Does any one know your bands complete roster.

I would also like the instrumentation for the Marcus High School Marching Band. i know they had 11 tubas this marching season but i would like to know the rest. and who are the guys in the gray suits

Not the exact instrumentation, but roughly what it was.

As far as I know, we marched:

 

24 Trumpets

8 Horns

4 Mellos

12 Trombones

12 Baritones

8 Tubas

 

16 Flutes

24 Clarinets

8 Bass Clarinets

8 Altos

4 Tenors

2 Baris

 

8 Snares

4 Quads

5 Basses

 

1 Drum Major

2 Field Conductors

Oh, and our Junior Varsity band had quite a large number too. It was about the size of a Division 3 i think

What's the difference between horns and mellos? I thought they were the same thing?

A marching horn is smaller than a mellophone. I think they are keyed differently as well, with the mellophone in F and the horn in B flat. Embouchure is a little different as well.

Oh you have no idea. Not to mention that the three piccolos are in the top ensemble. When we worked on marching music during class there would be three piccolos to only 45 other people. THAT was insanity.

 

Of course there will be only one for concert music.

I can't remember at this moment-probably due to all the teriyaki chicken and rice I had for lunch-but wasn't there at least one pic that marched this year ?

And yes, the junior varsity was quite large this year, lots of incoming freshies this year. There was no JV the year before.
