I would also like the instrumentation for the Marcus High School Marching Band. i know they had 11 tubas this marching season but i would like to know the rest. and who are the guys in the gray suits Quote
rpd Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Not the exact instrumentation, but roughly what it was. 3 Pics ~12 Flutes 14 Clarinets 2 Bass Clarinets ~8 Alto Saxes ~4 Tenor Saxes 1 Bari (supposed to be 2, didn't work out) ~18 Trumpets 8 Horns 8 Baritones 8 Trombones 6 Tubas 3 Tenors 7 Snares 5 Bases 5 Front Ensemble ~15 Guard =~142 Members. A marching horn is smaller than a mellophone. I think they are keyed differently as well, with the mellophone in F and the horn in B flat. Embouchure is a little different as well. Quote

Oh you have no idea. Not to mention that the three piccolos are in the top ensemble. When we worked on marching music during class there would be three piccolos to only 45 other people. It was about the size of a Division 3 i think I can't remember at this moment-probably due to all the teriyaki chicken and rice I had for lunch-but wasn't there at least one pic that marched this year ? And yes, the junior varsity was quite large this year, lots of incoming freshies this year. There was no JV the year before. Quote
