rpd Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I guess i'll make the first Jazz Festival thread of the new year. "The 35th Annual UT Arlington Jazz Festival will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009. We are excited to offer the festival this year on the UT Arlington Campus, in the Hereford University Center." There will be a first and second place trophy awarded to the 1st place and 2nd place band, and a 3rd place if there are more than 5 bands. There will also be an outstanding musician award per class. So far the only bands that I know that are going, other than us, is Lake Highlands and Wakeland. And an exhibition by last years winner, West Mesquite. If your in the DFW Area, you should definitely check it out. Plug I know, but its always nice to play to an audience Quote

rpd Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Awesome. I'm glad to see some more established bands going. My director told me today that there will be 45 different 5A jazz bands, playing in two separate halls. I can't wait to listen to some of the other ensembles. Quote
