Xenon Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 With all of the schools that are closing for the Swine Flu, I was wondering if there was a master list. It turns out that the TEA is keeping an up-to-date master list of all of the closings: http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/swineflu/schclosings.html Quote
Danpod Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 News out of San Antonio about the Piggy Flu: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/education...l_district.html I'm still not sure how I feel about this. It's hard to see whether these students are truly worried about the spread of influenza in their learning quarters or whether they are upset about these other school districts getting time off. Quote
rpd Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Probably the later. Kids at my school see the swine flu as a joke and I cant imagine kids a little down the road think much different. Quote
whitewing09 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Latter* Anyway some people are really worried, but most people here are not particularly concerned. Quote
TRtrumpet Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Just keep clean, wash your hands, and all that good stuff. Freaking out and trying to cause huge mass hysteria isn't helping anything anyway. Quote
chickora Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I'm glad that all this swine flu business has died. Quote
Mad.Hatter Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Reviving the topic! Have y'all been impacted much by this season's H1N1 outbreak --- or all the rain! Our band has lost a lot of outdoor practice time because of all the rain in our area (Austin). Plus they are missing over 30 people because of the flu. We are hosting a compeition this weekend and have had one band having to pull out because of the number of people they had or have out. Quote
GuitarJoe Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 i just got over swine flu. definitely not fun. Quote
GuitarJoe Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 It was bad, but not as bad as having the regular flu IMO. Quote
itsstephenyo Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Apparently the current swine flu virus is a mild form but still highly contagious. You won't get as sick, but it's super easy to pass off to other people. Quote

I just got over it as well, I wasn't allowed on campus or at work for 3 days because of it. I wasn't complaining until i realized i wouldn't get paid and that now i have a buttload of assignments due next week plus everything that i hadn't done for last week. Quote
