Daylen007 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) Who all is going? Edited September 9, 2009 by Daylen007 Quote
bingogooberman Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Pretty sure the other 3 CFB Schools will attend (Creekview, Turner and Ranchview). Also fairly positive that Hebron, Allen and Mansfield will be attending as well. And obviously, Smith will preform in exhibition. Quote
selby Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I just went through the lists of bands from the past 3 years (all that NSHS has posted on their TOC page), and found 14 bands who's calendars say they'll be attending. Birdville, Guyer, Thomas Jefferson, Grapevine, Hebron, Frisco, Allen, Rowlett, Weatherford, & Northwest, plus the usual CFB-ISD schools, Creekview, RL Turner, Ranchview, and Newman Smith (exhibition). Any other schools going? Quote

allstater09 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 based on this list, I think hebron is the best band to perform, I am really anxious to see what they have, it should be good, and they most def will try and build on the sucess from last year Quote

It's a toss up between Mansfield and Hebron. And don't forget how well Wylie has done at this competition the last few years. Quote
Xenon Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I'll be attending this competition this Saturday and hope to see some great performances for so early in the season. Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Does the predictions work for anyone? Quote
takigan Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 It's broken at the moment . New setup and all that. We're working on it.... Quote
Xenon Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I'll be running the live blog for this competition tomorrow. Check it out at http://live.txbands.com We've updated our live blog software and I'll mostly be using my cell-phone to update it, so as we experiment the format of the comments on the blog might be a little different from the past. Let us know what you do and don't like about it. Quote

itsstephenyo Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I completely forgot about the band world for a while... Nice to see my alma mater doing well at this competition. I saw them the night before at Homecoming. Definitely a different show than Hebron's past years. I like that they focus more on marching and playing this year. They've still got a ways to go. Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Full recap is posted on the Newman Smith website. http://www.nshsband.org/toc/TOC2009Rslt.pdf Quote
takigan Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Check out Wessells's massive 14 point spread in Marching versus Thomas's mere 5 point spread in Music and Laird's 3 point spread in GE in the finals recaps. The bands that placed 8th, 9th and 10th in Marching really took a beating from Wessells. Also, it looks like even though Fossil Ridge was unable to make finals, they still placed 2nd in drums during prelims. Nice... Quote
Xenon Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 That is what is called calling the competition and is exactly what the ordinal system is meant to fix. Quote

TOTALLY forgot about this site. This wouldn't be FR's first time attending ToC. I believe the LAST time FR went was my freshman year in 2000. We placed right behind LD Bell, Colony and Berkner. I also think FR went several times or one other time before 2000. Quote

Afterall, I was a freshman at that time and new to the marching world, I wasn't sure of any of these bands were!! Now I remember. Bell went to Birdville and the last time they went was 2000. Just a bit of history for the current FR members. In 2002, FR was the FIRST band at the Birdville contest to sweep all captions in finals. From 2001 to 2004/2005 (approx.), FR has usually placed first in pre-lims and typically finished in finals at second. Either right behind TC or Marcus... Quote
