JustAddWat3r Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Schedule is up. Looks like a much tougher lineup than last year. Quote
Adelaide Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I'll be there, and that's definitely some tougher competition than we see at the usual competitions we go to. Quote
Adelaide Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Ragneo said: Haha, yeah. I agree, it's going to be difficult to get into the finals at this competition, and that's exactly what I'm hoping our band can do. Hope you guys make finals too! I hope so too! I have a good friend at Fossil Ridge who plays horn and I haven't seen her in a while. It'd be great to get to finals to see these bands perform in the first place, it's nice to go to a competition with bands who are known to be good. Quote
allstater09 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Im looking forward to Hebron High School's program, as we all know they did win the contest last year, so I'm wondering if they can muster up enough to do it again............ Quote
Madisonftw Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Euge!(Hurray!) Less then a week away! The competition is going to be so intense. Can't wait..... Quote
Coopercoogs_statebound_09 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Saw hebrons show this year...freaking amazing. Defintly my favorite to win this year Quote

Inner Dialogue- Music from Bernstein, Copeland and Dupere- Awakening, Mind of the Beheld, Abstract Enlightenment. They won TOC by a whopping 7 points over a very talented Mansfield. I still highly doubt they'll beat Marcus, I do think it'll be closer than the last time these two bands met up at Birdville (MUCH) Quote

Their marching was ridiculously clean for this early in the season. However I don't think they had their entire show on the field at ToC Quote
itsstephenyo Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I really think allstater09 goes to Hebron. Every post he/she puts just praises Hebron to no end. And yea, Hebron's show wasn't complete at ToC. They've still got a ways to go with the drill they need to put out. One thing that stood out to me is that their use of props has gone wayyyyy down. Apparently, they're focusing more on marching/playing this year. I see their show this year as a platform to build on for State next year. Quote
Coopercoogs_statebound_09 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I'm going to take Cooper to win 4a. Not to be biased to mine own school though. Quote

EDIT: except, i may be wrong because i just looked at his profile and it said the school he was representing was hebron. lol Edited October 1, 2009 by capncrunk Quote

itsstephenyo Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I just found it funny how you always said it as if you weren't in the band. "I didn't get a chance to see them." Hahaha that's cuz you were performing =P Btw, I am a Hebron alum. In fact, I talked to y'alls band before the ToC competition. Yes, that was me. Quote
Xenon Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I'm here at the Birdville competition sitting up at the top of the 50. It's been really nice that I've already had quite a few parents come and talk to me. We are in the lunch break right now waiting for Frisco Liberty (bus issues) to come on and finish out the 2A, 3A, 4A portion of the competition and then we will have the 2A, 3A, 4A results. Quote

Amusicman Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 What music is Marcus using in this years show? Quote
Xenon Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Amusicman said: What music is Marcus using in this years show? For once, they really did tell us their music when they announced the show name. It seems to be from Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Including the famous Wedding March. Parents said that a returning veteran proposed during one of the football games knowing that the band knew the wedding march. They said there wasn't a dry eye in the whole stadium after the band played it for them after she said yes. Quote
