radchad Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Btw, you left William B. Travis off the list. Quote

No. Only San Antonio, St. Louis, Atlanta, and the Indianapolis regionals will be broadcast online, as well as Grand Nationals. The videos will be online in an "on-demand" format, however. Quote

ryan_albert52 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I just have a little tick about Colleyville Heritage. Last season they went to this contest and barely missed finals, they were pretty far off from making finals at San Antonio, and they didn't make semi-finals at Grand Nats. In all of these contests, there were bands in which Colleyville would have regularly been ahead of. I'm not trying to bash the organization or anything, I'm just wandering what they have this year to come back. Anyone know of what their show is or how they're doing this year? Quote

I saw them yesterday at Birdville. Their show is almost identical to Churchill's show in that "Joy" is the main theme. Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" is prominent through the entire show. The also use Rocky Point Holiday by Ron Nelson, im not sure on the other pieces. I enjoyed it. Quote

Their guard is very strong this year. And the band as a whole are much improved from the last few years in overall design, sound, and technique. Quote

The main thing I remember about them from this past weekend was how loud they were. Quote

Hebron's director is now the director at Reagan, right? Or am I inventing things again? I don't think this one will affect them too adversely...but I would be a little more wary with them. And you forgot Martin and Fossil Ridge. Fossil Ridge could be a tier 4, but probably a tier 5 just due to performance time if nothing else. Martin should be a solid tier 5, as well. No, we still have our head director. Only one of our assistant directors went to Reagan. Oh sorry, after reading through the rest of the posts, I now see that someone already established this... But they are better this year than they have been in everything. Which is an improvement, is it not? Quote

I've seen Colleyville Heritage a few times this year and personally, I think they are "the band to beat". Their sound is amazing! (No affiliation w/CH here...in fact, my son marches w/FRHS and he agrees - but also thinks LD Bell is awesome, too) Quote
