Seriously though, these 4 should be pretty close. Quote
Danpod Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 The Houston area schools have had their turn. Now, it's time for North Texas to show off their great programs. The Arlington Regional has been host to some very memorable performances. Union H.S. from Oklahoma introduced the world to the E-Plume in 2003. Richland became a National Powerhouse in 2005 with Inside Out. Marcus won their first Regional at Arlington in 2007. Whenever BOA comes to UTA Stadium, you can expect great performances with support from a great crowd. Block of the Day: Third Block. This block is filled with solid programs that we've all heard of at one point or another. Don't miss the last four in the block. Berkner has always put on quality performances. Of course, you can expect no less from a band run by Frank Troyka. Hebron is out to a fast start this season and is clearly looking to prove that last year's State Finals run was no joke. Ronald Reagan should be in Finals with a unique little concept. Richland is simply one of my favorite programs and if it's not one of yours, you should pay closer attention. Regional Finalists (Random Order): 1. Haltom 2. Marcus 3. L.D. Bell 4. Coppell 5. Mansfield 6. Berkner 7. Ronald Reagan 8. Richland 9. Hebron 10. Cypress Falls I think the eighth through tenth spots could be a massive traffic jam between Ronald Reagan, Cypress Falls, Aledo, Legacy, and Leander. Expect those point spreads to be very close. I feel very certain about the other placements. Regional Champion: L.D. Bell Marcus and L.D. Bell will be battling it out for King of UT-Arlington Stadium but this time around, I think L.D. Bell will take this early Regional. Bell now has Leon May as their drill designer, which should mean a ton of movement around the field. I think their visual program is going to put them on top on Saturday. Pay close attention to how Marcus and L.D. Bell pace their shows. Marcus is known for giving you about half of their show at the Arlington Regional. On the other hand, L.D. Bell gives you a somewhat completed product. Both programs are headed to Nationals this year so it'll be interesting to see how both programs utilize the early season. After watching both performances, ask yourself which is better: Marcus' musical performance or L.D. Bell's visual performance. Enjoy the performances! Cheer your heads off! Quote

Dragon5685015 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 What about Colleyville Heritage? Do you think they'll make finals @ Arlington this year? Quote
allstater09 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 hey, who has seen richland's show this year, im curious as to what it is..... Quote
titancoaster Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Biasism aside I believe that Connally will beat Birdville, Creekview and Legacy, they did place well at BOA Arlington last year, I will not say they will make finals I just think they will beat the above schools. They had a slow start but in what I have heard they have really come along with their show since USSBA, and their show design is very BOA. Quote
Euphonipwn Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 weather permitting, this is going to be a blood bath in talent. expect some surprises. Quote
Euph06 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 (edited) Richland's show is called virtuoso or something like that. It looked really interesting from the side and they are very good as always Edited October 8, 2009 by Euph06 Quote

Yeah....and Brazoswood was 3rd in prelims and got 7th in finals, Friendswood was 6th in prelims and got 9th in finals....Every band was placed differently from prelims to finals, except for SFA. Nobody really knows who will score where. We could have the same set of judges judge the same contest and get different results every time. It all depends on what their taste and mood is like that day... Quote
