Euph06 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 What do you think about this comp not much in 5A except for Keller High School And Martin but there are several good 4a Bands. I really have no clue how this contest will turn out Quote

ftwdrummer Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Comments: 1) this is one of the weaker HEB contests I've seen...ever. Reminds me of the one year my school went (all bands made finals). 2) a 4A is probably going to win this. 3) I'm leaning towards Forney winning, with Keller and Martin also having a chance (and a shot for Timberview and Legacy). Euph06 Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 I am leaning towards Keller High School, they did get 9th at BOA San Antonio last year and they usually have a pretty good show. I can see Forney doing really well though because they got second at Desoto to Duncanville earlier this year. Quote
Xenon Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I'm thinking about going to prelims at HEB and then heading out to UIL Region 20. Quote
Euph06 Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 I think it will be a pretty good contest even though it is not stacked with huge 5A bands Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Can someone keep me updated on this contest? thanks! Quote
Xenon Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I left right after prelims so I don't even know prelims results, but Martin really laid it all on the field in their prelims performance. It was really exciting. Legacy's electronics were mostly working today, but the vocals (integral to the show) didn't work until the last movement. Again, really impressed with Timberview's musical strength. And Lamar has come a long way from where they have been recently. Really nice showing from them. Quote
JustAddWat3r Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I think this is how finals went. Keller Martin Legacy Keller Central Summit Arlington Timberview Red Oak Bowie Lamar Forney was a no-show and Aledo left after prelims for thier Region competition Quote
Xenon Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Confirmed, that's the finals results. 1 Keller 2 Martin 3 Legacy 4 Central 5 Summit 6 Arlington 7 Timberview 8 Red Oak 9 Bowie 10 Lamar Quote
