However because its so late in the season almost all the bands are playing at a pretty high level. Can't wait to see what the big boys bring though. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 L.D was looking good, their new Introduction is intense. They changed those cloth things they danced with during the world dance thing and I believe there is a costume change for the guard? I like the animal thing Bowie added, soo sweet! I'm pretty sure they'll make finals unless something goes completely wrong The Woodlands pre-show business was pretty sweet and their ending is pretty awesome Clearbrooke changed up there show some I kinda liked it better the other way, but owell! Truly inspirational as an aspiring Band Director. I love the quote at the end "If you cant have fun with this"..."Why do it" Quote
BassoonPadwan Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) To be quite honest I'm definitely digging Marcus' show more than LD Bell this year. They just play at a ridiculously high level for marching band. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy and appreciate LD Bell. They have some beautiful moments that I am humming after I watch them perform. It's just I'm pretty much a Marcus fanboy at this point. And no I didn't go there. That last movement is unreal. aaron067 Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 ^ I agree whole-heartedly with this. I definitely appreciate the maturity of Bell, but there's just nothing comparable to the level of musical execution that Marcus produces. Quote
whitewing09 Posted November 14, 2009 Author Posted November 14, 2009 I wasn't a fan of Marcus' show at BOA SA, but I have heard wonderful things about their closer, so I will definitely need to check that stuff out! As for Bell, their show is my personal favorite Bell show. I can't really argue Marcus' musically execution, but they're drill always kills their shows for me. I can't wait to see semi finals and finals!!!! Congrats to the four Texas bands who made it and good luck with the next rounds!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

takigan Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Bourbon County was nails. An absolutely amazing Class A band, I don't think there's a Class A band in Texas that could top them. Quote

Agreed. They had some insane brass licks that were executed very well. I look forward to seeing there show at least one more time. Quote
longhornsax Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 So for those of you who are watching, does it look like it's gonna be hard to catch Avon? It looks like Bell will have to take the Visual caption if they want a shot. Quote
