ginnyqoa Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Does anyone have the finals performance for Hendrickson? Normally we watch the vids but our director didn't want us to ruin the memory by nitpicking it, and the show was over with he wanted us to remember the season, not the direct performance. Quote
JagDad09 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I will weigh in and say that it bothers me that a director doesn't want their kids to watch their 5th place finish in the State Finals because they'll "nitpick" the performance and "ruin" their memories of the season. I know all the bands strive to win, but a 5th place finish is something to be very proud of. A director suggesting otherwise by those types of comments is troubling to me. Quote

No...we felt great about the performance and that it was the best that we had done, so he wanted us to remember that, rather than show us the video so that we would see our mistakes (because obviously we made some, we weren't first) and remember those instead of how great we felt afterward. We finally got to see it though...and in a way I wish I hadn't...it doesn't seem as good as I remember it being now. So, he was right in his thinking. Quote
