I agree it will be close, but This line-up seems weaker than previous years. I guess because Marcus, Berkner, Duncanville, and Allen, just seem to not go anymore.(Yes I know Marcus was there last year) Quote

And I think some bands are choosing the closest location and not the toughest competition. You have this contest Little Elm and Birdville and all of them are a bit down because there are more contests to choose from. Also I know there are others just not sure what they are. Quote

Thats true, with economy being so bad, it is cost effective to go close. Thats why the schools from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and The BIG Easy don't go to PESH marching invitational anymore. Quote

The last time they attended was 2008. Quote

TxRaider13 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Poteet High School from Mesquite was 1st in prelims and in finals, and they won most of the awards. Thats all I know, sorry, trying to get full results. Good job to all bands that were at this contest, was told they were all very good Quote

takigan Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Their name doesn't indicate where they're from on the judging sheets or contest schedule or anything. One would either have to assume it's Arlington Bowie due to location, or do some research to know that Austin Bowie was attending Westlake on the same day. 5A Prelims Captions Winds- McKinney Boyd Percussion- McKinney Boyd Marching- Naaman Forest GE- McKinney Boyd Guard- Lakeview Anyone have any of the others, or particularly the ones from Finals? I was so pleasantly surprised to see Poteet take the Championship. The Pirate band is made up of least 60% freshmen and sophomores this year. Their directors have done a great job of teaching this young group of musicians. Looks like Wylie and Poteet will have some good contests in the future. Quote

I wouldn't count on that, I know something that will happen either at the end of this year or next year that will change the land scape of 4A Area C and maybe even State. When I drop this bomb shell, everyone will be either surprised or like me confused as to what to think. As a former Poteet Pirate Band member I don't know what to think about it. Does anyone have Desoto Results? Edited October 11, 2010 by TxRaider13 Quote

Does anyone have Desoto Results? WOW, that has me intrigued! Is UIL going to create a new Area? Or, at a state-level, possibly adjust the enrollment levels for the classifications drastically or add a new classification? Quote
