Come on Guys!!! I know most of us have graduated from the "God-like" days of TX band (2000-2007, in my opinion). Lots has changed since, but it is still our duty to recruit new members and get kids inspired/passionate about playing music and being apart of a larger group (something bigger than their hormonal, dramatic selves), just like we were! Come on now!!! Lets get off our butts, make new leaders, inspire different ideas and make some magic!!! It's our responsibility to continue igniting passion in today's young musicians.

Just so you know, I am a senior Music Ed Major at the University of Houston, lived through such proclaimed "hey-day" and currently teach lessons/am a visual marching tech for a HS. That's how I know so well that kids these days (wow, I'm old) need a FIRE LIT UNDER THEIR BUTTS!!! They just don't know yet the rewards, pride, teamwork skills and memories that are possible through HS performing arts.

(that and I still have two younger siblings in HS marching band)

Let's GO!!! The next wave of incredible art is on its way!!!

Just so you know, I am in college for Music Ed, lived through such proclaimed "hey-day" and teach HS band now. That's how I know so well that kids these days (wow, I'm old) need a FIRE LIT UNDER THEIR BUTTS!!!

Same here, I start student teaching in the spring and will find a high school that wants my skills as soon as I graduate. These kids do need a kick in the pants, but should lay the ground rules on proper behavior on this site. I'm with you and will start monday when I attend Forney High School for a clinic
