TxRaider13 Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Looks like another solid contest. I haven't seen the North Forney Band in its' short life, and Newman Smith and the Colony are always solid. I can find 7 locks to finals but the other 3 slots are toss ups because I haven't seen some of these schools TY for posting Edited October 13, 2010 by TxRaider13 Quote
the terminator Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 The contest is not very strong but because of it, it gets a lot of chances for up and coming bands to succeed. This is also the biggest I've seen this contest apparently everyone not at BOA San Antonio is here and not Duncanville. Quote
TxRaider13 Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Finals: 1. Poteet 2. Sherman 3. The Colony 4. Frisco 5. McKinney 6. Summitt 7. Newman Smith 8. J. J. Pearce 9. Liberty 10. Frenship Best Music/Perc: Sherman Best Marching/GE/Guard: Poteet Quote
beanpole Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I really liked Frenship and McKinney's shows, I'm glad we were able to see them after we went on. Quote
Idontkno Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I only saw Poteet from the 20, but their show didn't really impress me all that much? Is it better from the press box? It seems like they didn't have as much power to their sound. Quote

Next year the brass section will be stronger and a year older. Even with this so called lack of power, they still play and march well, and I know you mean what you put well. They will be stronger with more of a brassy sound next year. Trust me, they're my alarm clock...I live across the street Edited November 2, 2010 by TxRaider13 Quote
