Drummantx Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) With BOA nationals in about 2 weeks and state in less than 1, I thought it would be fun to share how you or your whole program did over the season. WTAC: Guard: 1st in Class 4A, and First Place Overall Drum Line: 2nd in class 4A, and around 5th or 6th Overall High Plains: 5th Overall In prelims, 3rd in Guard, 5th in percussion 4th Overall in Finals (Placed 7th Last Year) UIL: 10th consecutive 1 (Class 4A, Region 1) ZIA: (This Saturday) For the 2008 season, we got 2 new directors and barley missed a 2. Last year at area, we missed finals by 1 point . This year we made finals at a competition for the first time since 2006 3A State Finals in which we placed 6th. More importantly, I'm actually proud to be part of this show. I feel like we can be successful and do well, instead of expecting the worst. I get the feeling of WOAH, that was awesome after each performance. Tell me if you don't see improvement in these videos. Then: Now: Area A 4A, watch out next year. Canyon's coming to play. rpd Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Performed at: Arlington Eco-Fest Arlington Martin vs. Arlington Bowie Post Game BOA Arlington Dean Corey marching competition UIL Region 5 Future Performances: BOA San Antonio (Oct. 30) UIL 3A State (Nov. 1) Results were multiple standing O's during each performance. Overall a really fun season. I recommend every one do marching band in college whether its corps style (like UT Arlington) or show band (like UT Austin). Quote
Zurflu Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 This looks fun (: Round Rock High School Dragon Band: Dripping Springs Drumline Competition: Outstanding front ensemble, outstanding bass line, 5A winners with the highest score at the contest. Capital City Marching Festival: 1st in drumline, 1st in auxiliary, 1st place overall. Westlake Marching Festival: 1st in drumline, 2nd in preliminaries (only 5A), 1st in finals. UIL: Straight 1s (well, duh) Area D Marching competition: 3rd in prelims, 6th in finals, state qualified. (for the first time in 15 years!) State is this coming tuesday, and Lonestar is 4 days after that. I really hope we make finals at state, but I mean hey, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. Wish us luck! (Ha, like any band would wish a competing band luck ) Quote
