Congrats to the Marcus band for an unbelievably three peat! Making History!

Congrats to the Bell band for not being out of the top two at state for twelve years now!

Congrats to bands in DFW for having the gold, silver, and bronze medal since 2006!

Bell has made top 2 for 10 years (6 times) not 12. 2002 was an all DFW too, and 2000 and 2004 were off by 1 each.

Also this year DFW bands had 1,2,3,5,6,8 60% :)

They will be 1st or 2nd through 2012.

2000 through 2012 = 12 years.

It changed the city it says

Houston westfield

Spring westfield

Houstonwestfield

typo?

edit: beaten to punch

Westfield is in Houston city limits but is in the Spring ISD. UIL keeps going back and forth as to whether they call the school by the city it is in, or the ISD it is in.

Personally, I like using the ISD much better. If you used the city, you would get Arlington Summit from Mansfield ISD and Mansfield Seguin from Arlington ISD.....

Canton can't have won 4A SMBC in those years because 4A is only in odd numbered years.

Well Canton is 3A. ^_^

Oops..... I was thinking Poteet for some reason... Probably the green uniforms, constant winning of State Championships, and both did Vesuvius around the same time period.

I believe that the section between America the Beautiful and Salvation is an original composition by Don Hill.

Then there are obviously the Simple Gifts and TAPS solos.

I thought I read somewhere that the music they performed right after America the Beautiful was an excerpt from Black Hawk Down, which would support the whole helicopter theme in that section. I'm not certain, though.

doesn't hurt that the PHS director wrote the drill book until 2010, so marching was similar
