Xenon Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Be glad you don't live in Nebraska... http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/pr...ghschool-282071 Quote According to the Omaha World-Herald, the NSAA (Nebraska School Activities Association) forces all band members to pay gate admission to perform at postseason games. In essence, marching bands are asked to pay like any customer, then entertain the other customers while they're at it. Quote

Xenon Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 The worst part is that they are probably making even less money because of it due to bands not going and so no band parents coming and buying lots of concessions. Quote
NewMexicoBandsman Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Wow, that bites. Imagine the uproar if somebody tried that here. Somehow I can't see schools like those at state, many of whose bands make their football teams look silly, taking such a measure lightly. Quote
bchorn Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Doesn't having a marching band at the game add to the overall atmosphere of a playoff game? If so, why would Nebraska want to mess with that? Probably why you hear a lot about Texas high school football and not much about Nebraska high school football. Quote
mrwood69 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Nebraska is just trying to troll everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gud1neb mayBnextime Quote
rpd Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 If this was the case in Texas, its a good thing I never had to worry about playoffs in high school Quote
TxRaider13 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 PLAYOFFS?! You wanna talk about Playoffs?!.....So true, when I was in high school, Poteet won only 1 game in the 3yrs I was there, and Forney lost all 10. At both schools we were just happy to not get blown out. It was so bad at both schools, people would show up to watch halftime then leave Quote
